I'm sure they will be as good as ever!
I was surprised recently to find a plastic carton of pineapple - Dole - with a BBE date of 12/22 had gone an unpleasant brown colour. There was no leak. Perhaps just an unfortunate one-off.
On the other hand, last week I enjoyed a tin of Heinz Macaroni Cheese which was BBE 2018. Completely fine.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@YorksLass I used resolver to get a refund directly on my card rather than a voucher and it was very quick. They had said they could not do it unless we called in which was not convenient and as they had made the mistake did not feel we should do the running about. When i put is on resolver they refunded me straight away on my debit card.21k savings no debt10

Asda continued the Blue Light Card 10% discount for an extra month, to the end of April.

I was a key worker who worked all the way through covid, carried on visiting care homes and hospitals as a professional as soon as I was allowed in but never qualified for the blue light card. Always been slightly miffed about that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks Katiehound (and others), I agree the white wine vinegar would more than likely be OK to use, as would the other stuff. As I said, I'm not phased by BB dates, it's just my way of rotating so I don't get any nasty surprises.
IIRC, the vinegar was a clearance item so didn't cost much in the first place - plus it's not something I use a lot anyway - but at least it won't be wasted if I use it to descale the kettle.
Energy bill landed in my Inbox this morning and the breakdown of costs (20 Mar to 1 Apr and 1 Apr to 21 Apr) has made it easy to understand. The EPG reduction from 1 Apr for electricity remains the same as before (16.38p/kWh) and the gas is slightly lower (down from 2.44p/kWh to 2.19p/kWh). As expected, the monthly DD remains the same.
We've cut our usage down a lot, just need some warmer weather so the heating can go off permanently - that's the bit that costs the most. That said, it'd not on too much, just an hour in the morning and maybe another hour some evenings when it's chilly. I could probably do without it but DH's lack of mobility and advanced age means he feels the cold a lot more than I do.Be kind to others and to yourself too.5 -
I haven't had my bill yet but I was rather (in fact very) annoyed that due to the govt. payments each month instead of taking the full DD as agreed, Shell took what was left after the deduction. I would rather have built up a money pot, instead of which, now, have to increase the DD. Totally illogical IMHO.
the only teeny bonus, which I had forgotten about ,is that Shell is now one of the cheaper petrol stations round here and I get 3% discount which means it pretty much matches the cheapest. Two more spends and I get a voucher too!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

@Katiehound - It seems all the energy companies have different ways of applying the discounts, some better and more logical than others. We were switched from nPower to EonNext and so far have found them very good. Well done on your 3% petrol discount - every little win is welcome! Enjoy the voucher.
Today's job is to check that the tax coding on my final salary pension is correct - not that I pay any tax! They've sent last year's P60 and also the first of two pension slips for the current tax year (we only get two, one in April and another in October - paper saving exercise, I guess) but I'm still waiting for the letter that details this year's increase. I know what the increase is per month since this month's has been paid already but I still like to know how it's been worked out.Be kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
oh & today Shell offered me a wonderful deal!
Buy 3 regular Costa drinks and get the 4th free... not a great deal methinks....
(I shall stick to the double chocolate mocha sachets from Aldi- 8 for 85 or 90 pence: that's my treat of the day!)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Headed into Sainsbury’s to get £5 off voucher on my first shop in scan thingy and timed it just right some yellow sticker food. A pound each for two spatchcock poussins and some smoked haddock in chive butter.
I primarily went in for Mays issue of the gardeners world Magazine because it’s the two for one card this month and I’ve got a lot of use out of it last year.
tomorrow I need to check the rates on my savings accounts and move them around a bit which I dislike doing. I’d rather just find an account that’s got a halfway decent rate and it stays halfway decent, rather than having to keep moving money and chasing a better interest rateAll shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
