Auntycaz said:@euronorris another cheap tinned fruit for making fruited jellies is peaches. I have tried the morrisons savers and the sainsburys hubbards both 34p a tin and both nice. I sometimes put some in my porridge or just have them as they are straight out of the tin. They're handy to keep in the pantry for when you fancy something sweet but not too expensive.
It can also be done with tinned strawberries and cherries. Aldi sell cherry jelly. Though these aren't as cost effective as the fruit is a bit more expensive.February wins: Theatre tickets7 -
@EssexHebridean the tuna is also in 12 for £6.50, I'm also going to be looking at the tinned veg, a couple of offers there, and no running cost to store them once bought.
I also keep getting the special offers coming through on e-mail, some of the fruit is good price IF, if they have any in.£71.93/ £180.006 -
We used to make our jelly up in a large glass pitcher and when it was well stirred, pour it into individual glass bowls to set in the fridge. We keep a large supply of different flavors on hand. We also had it still hot if we were sick in a mug instead without it being refrigerated.8

She did eat sensibly but had a few attacks (she had dementia and would 'forget' she couldn't eat too much cake in the middle of the night) and the jelly trick worked every time until she died at 90
Today I prepared and stewed 4.5lbs of cooking apples picked last autumn as they will soon go over. Frozen in 1/2lb portions for my breakfast with added frozen summer fruits and yogurt. I shall miss these old apple trees when I move.Love living in a village in the country side11 -

It is pricey, but its good I can get them now for an occasional treat. In the past the only ones available were the Harleys pre made little plastic pots - expensive and bad for the environment. Or I could make my own I suppose, but that's a bit faffy.Live the good life where you have been planted.
