Casserole in the slow cooker with cheap veg for tonight and will make Mr Z his weekly "junk" lunch when he gets home from work: fishfingers, chips and spaghetti hoops. Honest he's 44 not 4!!!!!Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.9 -
Floss said:@YorksLass was it you who pointed me to HomeBargains for bacon? It's lovely, and great value!

My home bargains is only a little one who doesn’t do chiller cabinet food. Just tins, and occasionally they might run to packs of eggs or a bit of veg. Nothing more than that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.5 -
I'll have to check out the bacon in home bargains. I could lose myself in that shop! I have to walk around with blinkers on a fixed list to stop myself from buying things I don't need! Lol
I have seen people saying they've bought butter in farmfoods for £1.29 a 250g block the last few days! I can't confirm if it's still on, but worth a look if anyone lives close to one.February wins: Theatre tickets5 -
Mine certainly hasn't but his joy for life makes him just that more lovable!
Leftover casserole, steamed broccoli (and a few freezer stuffing balls for himself) for lunch. Done SO much housework and gardening this week(end) that a cold beer in the sun will be in order this afternoon. One of the drivers at my work gave me a few cases of beer as a thank you so don't need to feel guilty about buying it.

We've just got home from a trip to Aldi. Managed to get everything on my list, including salad stuff. The only gap I really noticed was broccoli and caulis (but we don't eat either of those anyway). Did a big storecupboard shop which includes cleaning stuff, toiletries, tins and packets for the next couple of months as well as the fresh bits we wanted for this week. As a reward for putting up with aisle hoggers in Aldi we also bought a packet of bacon and just had bacon sandwiches and a nice cuppa. We've got gammon for supper today with spuds, carrots, and cabbage, and the leftovers will get sliced for sandwiches.

Farmfoods leaflet says prices are locked in till the 13th March.
I'm going down this coming week as the passata is still 4 for £1 as well as wanting to stock up on the cheese, I will grate and freeze it in the size we use.£71.93/ £180.005 -
Wish I still had farmfoods home bargains and heron not too far away. I don't even have an Aldi Asda or Tesco unless I catch 2 busses each way and I just miss the connection for the second bus as the first one pulls into the city centre. Not really that far away by car but I don't drive and live fairly rural.5

@boultdj thanks. I'll be sure to go there this week then. They'd sold out of that passata when I went the other week. Hopefully they've restocked.
Is the cheddar any good? I don't eat cheese, but DH and DD do. DH big fan of cathedral city. He's tried sainsburys own and liked it. Morrisons he said was OK, but not great and aldis version he said he'd rather not have cheese, than have that again lol. £1.39 a block makes me suspicious that it will fall into that last camp for him and then it's a waste.
Managed to get a lettuce today. But all other salad bits were sold out. DD has already demolished the cherry toms I got on Thursday.
I did, however, manage to get a loaf of hovis and a loaf of Warburton for 37p each. A punnet of red and a punnet of green grapes for 50p each and a pack of sliced watermelon reduced to 57p.
Oh, and I used a tin of mandarins and some jelly to make some fruit Jellies for DD. I use those glass ramekins that you can get with fancy desserts (MIL passed some onto me). Perfect size for one portion. Then it's like having those expensive fruit Jellies, but for a fraction of the price 👍February wins: Theatre tickets7
