A litre of water is the same as a kilo of water. I can't help with your soup I'm afraid. Have you got a soup thief?
As an aside, the imperial system is just daft. 12" in a foot? 3 feet in a yard? Just...why not ten?! Actually I do know why...Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!6 -
Ok, my Tefal pot is huge. 24 portions is 8 x 600ml plastic takeaway boxes, as one gives me 3 servings. I in fact managed to get 10 out of it yesterday.
Windows, extractor fan, candles: nothing budges the smell, but also I am super sensitive to odours. Now the house smells of soup and the pineapple candle I burned yesterday! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Do you really mean you got 10 portions out of 600ml?
Did you eat all 10 in one day?6 -
I've just been writing my Christmas shopping list. We need to go shopping tomorrow as we've not been for 10 days due to the weather (local council haven't gritted any footpaths around here) so we are very low on fresh food. DP is at work all of next week, so will need a normal weeks food plus we'll get some bits for Christmas. We've decided to split our shopping in two lots (Aldi this weekend, Sainsbury next) as our fridge is quite small (and freezer is very small) so we can't get everything in one go. However, just in case of shortages of fresh meat next weekend we're going to pick up a gammon joint and some sausages to pop in the freezer (I've made space by using up lots of leftovers this week). Meal plan for next week is quite simple and mostly quick cooking options as I've had a lot of pain from my knees the last few days so want to be able to take it easy next week.

Just dug out a packet of puff pastry from the freezer and some sausages which I will skin tomorrow and make some sausage rolls for my grandsons tomorrow. All four are home at their Mums (my youngest DD) and two of them love sausage rolls.
As my freezer is stuff full at the moment I want to make some 'wriggle' room for reduced goodies after Christmas so using up some of the sausages and the puff pasty makes a bit of room for me. I will have to make some more for my eldest DD on Friday to take with me on Christmas Eve as she too likes a sasuage roll or three.
Stayed indoors in the warm today as its still cold and frosty with laying snow in my part of Kent , but fingers crossed it will be gone in a few days.
Youngest DDs birthday on Monday, I can't believe shes 53 bless her, she's a good lass, as is her sister, even though the pair of them argue like teenagers at timesmy eldest is 55 you'd think she would be a grown up
but they do love each other and the youngest is a bit of a tease to her big sister.
This time next week it will be another Christmas Eve and it seems to creep up on us very suddenly. I read somewhere today thats it 94 days until sring and I look forward to the briter nights as the winter months are so grey at times.
Just about to do my budget for next year, fingers crossed I can trim a few bit off it
I know I have the mobile phone company lass ringing me back on Boxing Day at 11.00 as the lass I spoke to said to hold fire on renewing my contract with them until then as Boxing day they have better deals .
Bless her my existing one expires mid-January and she was such a nice lass when I spoke to her she said she likes to try and help folk get the best deal they can. Hopefully it will be a decent one.
Right time for a nice cuppa and a slice of fruit cake I think, then I will get stuck into the figures
