London_1 said:I wonderif a hardware /plumbers merchant might seel the washers If you took the stopper in they might find you a rubber washer that might fit.Rubber washers are used in the mechanical bits of flushing loos so its possible or try Wickes perhaps if you have one local . Just googled rubber washers for stone hot water bottles and Homebase apparently sell them or there are various others on google

Just flicking through TV channels, C4 is showing "Christmas at Liberty". The senior staff seem so ditzy and frankly silly about trivial matters, but I know those on the shop floor work hard. I'm torn between thinking about how fatuous the sector for fripperies is and also hoping that it attracts a lot of external wealth which is what our country needs, but am fascinated nonetheless. I'm wondering if it was filmed last year?
One thing is for sure, Liberty's customers aren't feeling the pinch! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -
It did mention Christmas 2021 and I've definitely seen it before6

I love Liberty fabric but only ever had a pack of pieces as a present. I used the pieces to make patchwork pincushions.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Many years ago I saw some of the worst finished dresses I have ever seen in Libertys. Crooked seams, uneven hems etc. These were designer dresses and even if I could have afforded them I wouldnt have bought them. They were not seconds or in a sale.
I used to love Libertys to look round and even bought a couple of small items but havent been to London for a long while now.

Morning all
Have been absent for a while whilst I have tried to have a good declutter and focus on keeping family healthy since we seem to get hit with lurgies, headaches, sore throats etc and also working with the puppy to try and get him trained to some degree, although recall training a greyhound puppy is proving interesting! but hes cute so I'll let him off.
Finally, have gotten husband on side with the money saving, I think.
I had my two electric blankets from OVO delivered the other day and husband seems to have commandeered one for the sofa and we were sat down having tea with the kids the other day and husband said he was cold still so I suggested putting the small electric fire on in the living room and he said well we won't be putting the gas on because it's too expensive and that we should go out shopping on his next day off and buy some big thick cosy blankets to keep on the sofa for the evenings.
We did receive the household fuel voucher the other day though for £66 and it says on the letter we can put it onto our gas so I will be topping that up with it since we are still on free electric after the SSE man messed the electric meter up when he was trying to install a gas smart meter. No one has contacted me about another appointment to correct it and Ill be honest I don't want to really chase them about it since it was their mistake.
Other than that I have been keeping the cupboard stocked with plenty of warm drinks and soups.
Then my daughter holly managed to break her bedroom blind so she had nothing on her window and was getting cold so I have hung a fleece blanket on a curtain rail and she said yesterday her bedroom feels much warmer with it there and its darker at night which she likes, plus her room is a pretty pink colour when the sun shines through it too. Shes also stolen my weighted blanket as well and has been using that on top of her duvet.
I hope everyone is alright though and keeping warm.
Time to find me again11 -

Gosh its a very nippy one today ,I was going to go to the shops ,but decided it can wait until tomorrow, nothing needed urgently and tomorrow is my Dobbie's coffee morning so I will go there then have a mooch around the deli part to see if there are any bargains.
I'm still waiting for my large wool order to arrive from Sirdar, Evri say its in transit, but they have had it for almost a week. But I guess it will turn up eventually.
I'm running down my fresh stuff, if I can as I shall be too-ing and fro-ing between both DDs houses for a week betweenChristmas and New Year, popping back now and agin to make sure my house is OK.
Yesterday I spent the afternoon sewing up 12 Christmas snowmen for the Terry's Chocolate Oranges (cheapest place to buy the chocolate was Lidls, locally to me. @ 99p each).
What started as making one each for my two great granddaughters had expanded to 12 as folk saw them.
Good job I have a good stash of spare wool to use up.but they do look OK and they will be appreciated. £10 Christmas pensioners bonus popped into my bank account this morning which was a nice surprise,I had forgotten that we get it. it will get squirrelled away towards the January 'big shop afer Christmas. So far no money spent on my food budget this month so Decembers budget is intact at the moment.
Although I did treat my youngest DD to one of the Sainsbuys half price legs of lamb which she was really pleased about it was a good size and only just over £14.00 odd.But paid for it with nectar vouchers so really cost almost nothing at allMy kind of bargain

I think Evri have been taking on Amazon overflow deliveries… as that’s who delivered my Amazon orders recently… thinking with Black Friday they might have been more busy than usual.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?7

@London_1 - when we order deliveries here, it is interesting to watch their progress around the country. I think the companies should put dashcam cameras on their trucks so you can see the whole country while following your packages. We have had packages go through twenty different states until they finally get delivered. We have even had packages sent from a location in California end up in two or three other states before they get back here to California. We had one package sent from the town next door go to northern California before coming back a week later!10
