There are a few on here who I have met and several I am friends with on FB and I wouldn't be too hard to find (look for doddery old dear with a pink flowery stick) wearing a big smile some where in north Kent and its me
We had a forum 'meet' in Blackpool a few years ago now,and all had a great weekend sitting up until the early hours drinking wine and nattering. so I think there are a few here who know who I am.
I took a couple of years break when the system changed as it kept going wrong and was not as easy to navigate as it first was back in 2004 but when I returned (by request) I had to change my user name for some reason.
So I am, like the Duke of Wellingtons house in London.
Number One London (its the address)so hence London1 but I'm still the dappy old dear I ever was
as a few of you will remember
By the way I too am a cheese 'nut' and have been known to imbibe a drop of gin in my time .Not so much now as being a lot older and wiser I can manage to fall over a lot easier without the help of alcohol
Old age now does it for me(the hospital medication for my cracked ribs seems to work very well though
)
Just off to pick up my grandson fromRochester as the trains only go as far as there today and he is travelling home from his trip to Paris, and Rochester is around 6-7 miles from where we live (another clue)
have a good weekend chums

Definitely a cheese and gin fiend here too! I’m also another who has a number of real life MSE friends now - but then as I say I’m generally more identifiable than some in any case. 😁
MrEH tells me that price rises and stock shortages defined his shopping experience yesterday - the block of own brand cheddar that we were hoping to get there was no sign of - he got a Cornish brand on special offer instead. There was no dripping, the only apples that we would consider at all edible were Coxes (I’m sure they some flavourless options like Golden Crudlicious but I can’t see the point of those!) and the big bag of crisps has now gone to £3.90 - which means it’s risen more than £1 in a year. Sigh.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Making some veggie soup and cleaning the floors today. Hoping for another NSD
Feeling a bit rough but sadly have a 160 mile round trip for my weekly visit to the office tomorrow and a paid changeover to do today. The joys of the modern Highland clearancesWish well off people would think (or care) before they bought a property that sits empty ten months out of the year.................dying villages and towns all over this region.
Hoping for a frugal week after tomorrow's petrol costs. Meal plan has lots of soup (started on the camping stove and finished in the slow cooker) and will be gathering driftwood to season for next years heat.

I was just saying on another thread on here that I am going to start having more NSD's too. This is what I had to do when we were in debt and paying off our mortgage and even though we aren't in any debt now I'm going to try and do it again. I am spending too much online and in charity shops and want to be more frugal. Annoyingly, we need to buy a cleaning product and some maragrine today so it won't be a NSD, but at least it will be low spend.
I agree about the Pink Lady apples too. They are the only ones we like these days as most others don't have much flavour at all!10 -

Back to the original question though, I am totally feeling the pinch. I'm spending more and more on groceries and getting less and less, and that is from a low baseline. I regularly miss meals but now I shall not be snacking on anything other than carrots. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.19
