If it comes in pink (like razors), it costs more. Pink dye must cost more (or they just think we have a thing for pink). If color makes a difference in price, I just buy the less expensive.14 -
I've been buying men's clothing for the last 20 years, a lot better vest wise as the back is a lot longer than the ladies version.£71.93/ £180.006

Oh good thought thanks. I have some of the non slip stuff you line a drawer with, from £land ages ago… or is it in my desk at work. I think that would work well as it’s flexible and mesh is easy to sew… just have to test how long it will last.Katiehound said:

I have looked at knitting my slippers but worried they will be slippery underneath on my hardwood floors - do you add anything to stop them slipping? I have seen some patterns with an attached sewn on sole but they are expensive to buy herenewlywed said:Have a stash of wool, so treated myself to some lovely looking slipper and slipper boot patterns. I did go through a load of free patterns but the patterns on Etsy just pleased me more so I went for it. £3 and £4 for patterns isn’t bad when I already have the rest of the supplies and can make multiples… and for gifts too.
I see you can buy it from Amazon but it might well be available elsewhere.
The large mesh stuff goes under rugs but the small mesh is used on trays for folk with mobility problems so plates don't slip off a tray. I remember you used to be able to get it to put on the dashboard so items stayed put.
Wilko sells a big piece. £land?
Also adhesive backed anti skid stair treads material
Just a thoughtworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?7 -
Many thanks to all for your suggestipons. I am going into town tomorrow all being well and will hopefully have a nosey round theone or two charity shops that are left. Unfortunately I also need to go to the bank which is at the opposite end of the high street so I dont know how much I will be able to do. I do keep an eye out on ebay but I must admit I have never looked on Vinted so will also try there.

In the States it's called the "pink tax" and thankfully some states are moving to address that issue. Disposable razors are an excellent example since women's razors can be twice as expensive for what I have found to be slightly duller razor.weenancyinAmerica said:

For basics (e.g. t-shirts, athletic trousers/sweats), indoor clothing (e.g. PJs) as well as certain items that are sell in women's and men's (like zip up fleeces), you should always have look in the men's section. Women who are super petite should look at boys' sizes and for anyone who is tall or has long arms, the men's section is great.Jan 2023 GC - $88.35/$150 (grocery budget-food only)

Florenceem said:Thanks for the advice re gluten free baking. Mr F and I tried the GF cake last night - very light texture. The GF lady didn't turn up today so I left a slice of cake in the fridge for someone to have with custard tomorrow as they usually miss out on a hot dessert at our lunch club. The remaining cake has gone in a labelled tub in the freezer at SA.

a bit off topic but i went to a different charity shop in canterbury and could not believe the nice stuff they had, all leather designer boots £5 and handbags £40 i treated myself But could so easily have bought more. Now i have posh stuff when needed. I also have a posh coat but as its camel i only use it couple of times a year. i have a black similar one that i use all the time. I have taken all my small clothes that i used at work to CS. After working through lockdowns at home and becoming a scruff since I retired this year i have made an effort with my clothes as i want to look nice for myself If I slouch about in baggy clothes it makes me feel down and had 2 years of that. I am not suggesting anyone on here looks any less than lovely though Its just me21k savings no debt18

Oh which shop was this? I wouldn’t mind a look.otb666 said:a bit off topic but i went to a different charity shop in canterbury and could not believe the nice stuff they had, all leather designer boots £5 and handbags £40 i treated myself But could so easily have bought more. @otb666 I quite agree! When I am dressed comfortably or even scruffy at home, all my cleanliness standards slip. I leave a mess out more, I dust less frequently, I don't hoover, I just read on my phone. Food will be something super simple, for instance a fried egg with cheese on toast.BTW: I visited Canterbury with a friend before covid, and I, too, found the charity shops to be excellent.
