Did you see the panorama program about the cost of milk? Maybe it’s time it should go up…working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?13

I think those funky shopping trolleys are meant for people like me - older but not willing to admit to being old. This is one area where younger people don’t need to worry about image.7

Once my debt has gone and I have a little more luxury to pick and chose where I spend my money I think I'll move to free range milk. Although I don't have a problem with cows being in for winter - on some land that's just be necessary, I don't like the idea of them being indoors their whole lives and never out in the fields munching the summer cud.Live the good life where you have been planted.

Ideally I get my milk straight from a farm, you buy a bottle and fill it up via a vending machine and then you can just refill your bottle/s next time you go. It is more expensive but you get to see the cows and can even stroke them if they come near enough. I don't mind paying more as its going straight to the farmer and they are lovely people there, they also sell cheese and ice cream and milkshakes made on the farm as well. Trouble is I can't afford to use them all the time, one of my dds uses them all the time, her children love the milk as its so creamy and tastes different from sm milk.

I posted on this thread at the beginning, and have been following it since.
My annual budget of £3,800 per annum for everything (excluding mortgage and CT) will be stretched to its limit when the price increases hit us in April.
Email from our supplier yesterday confirmed our daily standing charge will rise to almost 55p per day from 31p, and unit rate will rise from just over 21p to 29p.
My children will be going onto packed lunches after half term because the meal prices are rising to £2.20 a day per child, so £22 per week for both of them - I can do pack ups for much less. Enquired about free school meals but because I don’t claim universal credit due to anxiety about such things I’m not eligible. My own ‘fault’, I know.
eBay really has been my saviour recently. I’ve listed things at low, fair buy it now prices and had a lot of success. It might only bring in a few pounds each time but it’s better than nothing xx
