nannygladys said:I was thinking of getting one of this little old lady shopping carts as I could start to walk to the local town for a few bits and coming back up the hill would be very good exercise, if it doesn't kill me off!!!Be kind to others and to yourself too.6

KxMx & YorksLass - I didn't realize you could get quite funky ones until I started looking, I only remember those tartan ones of old! I also noticed more younger mums with them as well, perhaps they're coming fashionable with the frugal set
YorksLass - I will bear the size in mind as I don't really need a huge one and I don't think I would want to pull it up the hill anyway. I wouldn't do a big shop using it, I'd probably still use the car, but going to the library, food hub and local shops it would come in handy. I've been looking on the net but I'll have to go back and look at measurements, thanks

There used to be a whole thread on shopping trollies - maybe that would give you some options to look at."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I saw an article in The Londoner about one young lady in her 20s filling her shopping trolley with the best Aldi had to offer and wheeling it all the way home. It sees the old lady image has long since faded. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

We have a shopping trolley that is black with grey dots and reflectors on it. It is one with 6 wheels, 3 on each side, so it can go up kerbs easily. Bought from L!do years ago now and one of my OHs favourite buys for only £19.99 if I recall correctly. We're both in our 30s and have no shame taking it out.
OH would rather use the trolley with heavy items than struggle with bags of shopping any day. Just yesterday he used it to bring back around 10kgs worth of shopping from a store just over half a mile away with ease, that same trip using our bags instead would not have been fun for him.
We didn't see the point spending more for a funky design but in all honesty if that is what makes younger people use them then I call that a win. Heavy bags can cause a lot of problems to the body so the switch to a shopping trolley could easily prevent future health issues!I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy16 -
I find mine a great help to my mobility as well
.
Mine is a 2 wheel, and I believe it was a capacity of around 47l from looking at images, can't recall from purchasing.8 -
@jennystarpepper, what’s QM please? We live in a tourist town and our local supermarket is Tesco. We’ve found from around June to September-ish that the range of cheaper ranges and cheaper meats disappear. Though Ald!are building a new shop opposite them so hopefully that will help us.10

I've been using the dishwasher every 3-4 days - typically containing 25 mugs at a time - for the last 6 months, have decided to go back to o/s washing up. Although I love the finish on stainless steel teapots and cutlery, its quicker and tbh I find playing DW tetris to get it packed to maximum efficiency a PITA. I also don't think its worth the energy costs of running for 5 hours a week.
Particularly as I end up more than just rinsing before the items go in there in the first place. Tannin stains, coffee rings and lipstick marks get baked on otherwise. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I have a shopping trolley also. I got it several years ago when I had labrynthitis. Once the worst of the dizziness was controlled, I could get about, but I didn't trust myself to drive as turning my head to either side sent me into a spin again. So I picked up the trolley from a local charity shop and would take it to work on days when I knew I wanted to get some bits from the lidl round the corner. Hasn't been used for a while, but am loathed to get rid of it, in case it becomes a necessity.
Interestingly, I've just been to morrisons and saw a young family walking round with one. I presume they would be walking back with it all in the trolley.
Had a leaflet through the door from morries with a £3 off a £20 spend voucher and 20% off fresh fruit and veg voucher. Plus, if you spend over £40, you get a voucher for 7p off per litre of fuel and we needed to fill up. So I did our weekly shop there. Got almost £6 off with the vouchers and then saved another (almost) £3 on fuel, so not bad. The fuel prices are getting eye watering tbh!February wins: Theatre tickets11
