Our local Morrison’s makes up bags of wanted items at different prices so you can just pick up a bag at the amount you wish to spend with your shopping. I think it’s a great idea and makes donating easy.7

Girlt said:Whilst we are discussing food banks, does anyone know if they accept bubble bath? My mum keeps buying me a certain brand of it and I can’t stand it so have 8 bottles of unopened stuff. Also I’m going shopping tomorrow and wanted to get a few bits to donate. Apart from pasta and tinned items what else do they need?No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.4 -

We give a yearly donation in memory of WonderCollie and his predecessors, Rocky and Pippin. Little Lady also was rescued by the SPCA, we actually met the Officer who rescued her at a fundraiser before Covid. The officer said your little dog looks like one we name XX and was a foster fail. We laughed and told her yup, that's our girl! We have pictures of them and now now a bit of her history. She was found hiding behind a rubbish skip!8 -
I was shocked by the price of a 500g pack of lurpak last night. Not too long ago, it was £2.75. Last night it was £4.49!! 😱 Needless to say I bought the cheapest butter on offer instead!
Around 7pm seems to be a good time for yellow sticker bargains in my local morries (if others are able). I got some fruit bargains (like 3 kiwis for 30p) and a branded pack of bagels for 32p. So DD and I had toasted bagels with chopped bananas and a drizzle of honey for breakfast (already had the bananas and honey). I can't eat the kiwis, but daughter will make short work of them.February wins: Theatre tickets6 -

Mr F got a pack of cinnamon and raisin bagels reduced from £1.75 to 10p last night. They will last us for 5 days - I split a bagel and toast - our mid morning snack - spread with golden syrup.

The Co-op in my village does its final reduction at 19:30ish so I always time my evening walk to coincide with this. This is how I buy most of my bread and fruit for the week. Unfortunately, it is the only shop within walking distance otherwise I would take advantage of more YS items.Credit Card Debt

Just batch cooked 6 individual cottage pies.
500gms reduced fat best minced beef, yellow stickered £1.49p
4 mushrooms finely chopped 10p
1 onion diced from a reduced pack 5p
2 dented reduced tins of Heinz baked beans 40p
1 carrot finely diced 6p
1 oxo cube 5p
1 dessert spoons of bisto gravy powder 15p
Mash, from the special offer bag of potatoes from last week to top them off 30p
I made the minced beef first and added a handful of lentils to the mix as well probably abot 10p. once cooked decanted it from the saucepan to 6 individual rectangular take -away boxes.added a layer of baked beans then topped with the mashed potaoes
Total cost £2.70p for 6 ready made individual meals for the freezer 45p per serving If I add some steamed brussles of shredded cabbage it should come to around 50p per meal. Quite pleased with my afternoons work, and used up some more stuff, and got six meals for the next few weeks for me.Take one out in the morning pop into the fridge and microwave in the evening for dinner cheap as chips and having had a wee taste very nicebit more than the MP's 30p meal, but still reasonable, and all it took was a little time this afternoon, which as it was raining, I didn't mind
A productive day I think. a good way to streetch out what I had in stock anyway
