I think we were going off topic a bit, and at least one post had highly undesirable terms in it.

Good suggestions re the Foodbanks, and it's good to hear different ideas too - of course it is up to us to determine if we are able to donate (sadly, some of us simply cannot afford to right now) but it's definitely needed more than ever these days. I sometimes cannot afford much, but even on small donation from me could make a difference to someone else, so I still try to donate every so often. Much as I hate Tesco adopting the motto, it is true that every little helps. Take care all.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Apparently, here in Belgium, the price of chicken has risen 400%!

Went to Ald. today - flour had gone up by 10p. Blessed that I could buy 6 tins of sliced peaches - my SA food bank is out of tinned fruit. I will drop them round tomorrow morning.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Whilst we are discussing food banks, does anyone know if they accept bubble bath? My mum keeps buying me a certain brand of it and I can’t stand it so have 8 bottles of unopened stuff. Also I’m going shopping tomorrow and wanted to get a few bits to donate. Apart from pasta and tinned items what else do they need?3

Best to check your local foodbank website/ Facebook page.Girlt said:Whilst we are discussing food banks, does anyone know if they accept bubble bath? Not meant to have discussions on the forum any more. That was what discussion time was for before it got abolished. Any thread that veers towards discussion rather than staying on topic has a tendency to vanish.YoungBlueEyes said:Ah removed. I thought I might have got an explanatory/telling off email if it was that...?
Shame we can't have an actual grown-up conversation with differing opinions and view points then.
Unimpressed. So back on topic: every time I buy milk it seems to have gone up another penny or two.
I’m also finding that olio is hugely oversubscribed and I didn’t get anything I asked for last night although my requests were within seconds of the items going up.
Apart from jars of mincemeat. Mr T has been having a clear out and there were 70 odd jars looking for a good home, bbf Nov 23. I refrained, in the interests of my waistline. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.7 -

Check with your local one - my SA food bank gives out toiletries so needs them donated. We give out nappies as well.Girlt said:Whilst we are discussing food banks, does anyone know if they accept bubble bath? Ours certainly does - we also get disposable nappies, sanitary items, toothpaste etc, also household cleaning stuff. Many foodbanks have a website/social medi presence, and will post up particular needs. Ours tends to run out of hot meat products, long life juice and cold meats but of course those tins of stewing steak/mince etc tend to be expensive for people to donate.Girlt said:Whilst we are discussing food banks, does anyone know if they accept bubble bath?
