It's awful when you don't have the choice. I've just moved from a village that had a co-op and a sainsburys (always miraculously within pennies of each other on prices) and a corner shop !!!!!! post office. The nearest town was 20 miles away for all the others, so for me being a Lidler it was a 40 mile round trip. At least I didn't have to cross water to get there tho!Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.6

I agree about the full post quoting @Si_Clist. It's not hard to take out the parts you're not referring to - even I can do it!
What particularly annoys me is when a string of people reply to a post and they all quote the first one in full.
A whole post quote is useful on threads where the OP looks likely to edit or delete chunks when they don't get the answers they were looking for, but the next 15 people don't have to do the same thing. Grrrr.Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.9 -
I'm back on the forums after a long break, from what I remember it was to firstly not 'promote the shops' for free and secondly to make it harder for the shops to see if we were talking about price mistakes we'd found or 'hacks' that we could take advantage of.Si_Clist said:
Sorry, but I have to ask - why the code? What's wrong with "Tesco" and "Asda"?FrugalThymes said:... T3sco ... Asd4 ...
Honestly, I genuinely don't care either way, so happy to just write Tesco etc if it's now making it difficult for people to read

I remember those price mistake threads. Didn’t people decamp elsewhere in the end when there were one too many changes on here? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.6 -
Theres nothing written about forum etiquette for any newbies or oldies to follow.
New posters arrive and they follow what others are doing, that could include, changing shop names, referring to children as DS, DD, or quoting whole posts.
It's the content of the posts and that people are joining in, that matters, especially in these times.21 -
When posting from a mobile device, the default is to quote not only the desired post, but also the ones to which it was a reply.YoungBlueEyes said:What particularly annoys me is when a string of people reply to a post and they all quote the first one in full.
It's a pest to read, but it's not so easy to remove the excess text on a small device.14 -

True freyasmum. If I’m on here on my phone it’s a pain to take out quotes from within quotes within quotes.I mean the ones where people read the first post and quote it to put their reply. Then the next person comes on, reads the first post and quotes it to add their reply. Rinse and repeat. They’re not quoting each other, or seemingly even reading each other, they’re all individually quoting the first one.I don’t know if I’ve explained that very well.Honi swanky malyponze.
