Sofology faulty products

Like others I have purchased a sofa and footstools from sofology. 6 months later the sofa has sunk so much that we cannot use the footstools. Sinking of cushions seem to be a common theme that results in technicians saying its normal but from what I can understand if many other people have a similar problem (and they seem to reading some of the posts on this site and others) there is a case for mis-selling of items that are not fit for purpose. I presume small claims court is the way to go. We cannot live with the low quality items any longer.

Depends.  If you're within six months the process is slightly different to that if you're over 6 months since purchase.  Ultimately though, you're right in that small claims court is the way to go if you can't reach agreement with Sofology.

It's sensible to arrange your own inspection before doing so, though.  You need something to back your case.  If successful, you can claim the cost of the inspection.

What is your sofa, eg leather or fabric. What are they filled with. Where you told you had to plump them up. I purchased a fabric one with fibre filled and was told with this i must keep turning and plumping them up. As i wanted a soft sofa i knew what to do.
There has been reports of leather sofas having this happen and as they are stitched you can't do this. If this is the case you should complain to the company as some sofas have had the wrong foam put in them. I love mine but i may now raise the feet on them as getting up is now not as easy.

We have not long finished paying for ours.  We wouldn't buy another one.
The cushions are getting quite flat, despite semi-regular plumping.
The sales person told us they would be foam filled but when they arrived, the only option was the old fashioned filling that requires plumping.
We should have queried it when they delivered and rejected it but we were weak and wanted the sofa.
  • hello All, ours is a Santino, the technician said it's normal although we refute this as it should not have been sold with the footstools if they knew it was to sink. Lots of others have had sofa seats collapsing too. Our 'care' video that we were sent said the seats should hold their shape but arms and top of back needed plumping. I have now informed Trading standards and Furniture Ombudsman. I would never buy from here again. Their products are not as shown on any website or showroom. Will keep you updated.

Just wonderederd what you mean @TedandLulu when you say:  "Their products are not as shown on any website or showroom."

Are you suggesting the displays in brnahc are different to what is supplied? If this is provable I would think it stengthens your case.
