Have you checked that they are able to supply the new address as this will not always be the case?

I think even in the best case scenario that is probably unrealistic, especially if the property is not a new build, although one would hope a day or two should be possible.

If this is a real need (eg. for working from home or similar) you might want to consider buying a 4G internet router in case things don't go as smoothly as you hope.
Or tether to your phone if you have a generous data allowance!

Just to double check, have you checked the address on their address lookup, it is not always the case of being the same area, it depends on cabling, cabinet space, engineer availability, if the previous occupants cancel or transfer their broadband in time etc.

On that basis I would plan on a few days of moaning, it is probably unlikely that the you will be able to get the switch on the same day, it relies on too many things going right, it will likely be a day or two.
  • If the property has a current broadband connection you need to speak to the occupiers to see what their plans are for termination of their service.

If you order without their knowledge they will get a "sorry to hear you are leaving" letter/email and they will tell their current ISP to reject the order and that will further complicate things.
  • If you can get FTTP, usually there is a 2 week period, but if you take that from today, then that means the 18th is possible if there are open slots for that day.
