Buyer no delivery claim

Good morning all
I sold some trainers on eBay and buyer paid promptly. Unfortunately the parcel was slightly late in being sent so buyer raised a case (by this time 4 days had passed since I sent the trainers). I checked the tracking and they were delivered and signed for 4 hours before he raised the claim. The name on the signature is his surname but the actual signature is XP1 which is the code Royal Mail use for covid.
I contacted him and gave him the tracking and he claims he has not received them, but said he lives next door to a post office so hoping they are left there.
Does anyone know where I stand? I contacted eBay who advise I have to wait until 2nd Feb and ask them to step in and they will side with us as the item is clearly delivered.

Ask Royal Mail for GPS location. We are tracked via our PDA's and whenever I deliver anything that needs a signature or is tracked I stand at the customers door for a bit longer to make sure that the GPS "gets" my location.

If it's signed, surely ebay won't care?
Essentially, how can the buyer prove they didn't receive them?0 -
I think this may be some sort of scam, despite two messages asking if he has located the item he hasn’t responded. My money is on hold and eBay won’t do anything (yet).
I can’t see a postman advising that surname signed for the item if they didn’t, I understand the XP1 is the code used during the pandemic but I just don’t get his logic here0 -
Have you uploaded the tracking information to ebay?
May you find your sister soon Helli.

yes tracking info loaded to eBay which states deliveredKxMx said:My postman signs and leaves packages without knocking.
my postman doesn’t, unless I answer my doorbell and ask him to, then that’s on memolerat said:Where does the GPS location show it as being delivered ?
don’t know as I haven’t requested it yet as he now wants to Monday to look into it, and until I know what the situation is I don’t see any point as it may be at the post office his flat is above (as he said in one of his messages)

Strange as if the tracking info says delivered, ebay takes that as delivered - doesn't matter the signature.
People can be named X1 these days.0 -
Does the tracking page not show the delivery map, it usually does.wizzywig27 said:To answer the latest questionsWhere does the GPS location show it as being delivered ?

They are the only ones that can access PDA actuals.I had someone claim non-delivery and the print out was from Goole maps with the marker outside the persons house. What had happened the husband walked out the garage I handed the parcel to him, he took it indoors and I can only presume the lady opened it without realising it was her tracked parcel.0
