Hyundai Tuscan Service Costs
Hi
I am looking to buy a new Tuscan 2021 car - just trying to work out whether it is worth getting the service plan - £37 a month = £1406 over 3 years.
Using PCH - so doing 10k miles over 3 years.
I am thinking that it will need servicing once each year - say £200 per service, so £600 over 3 years.
Then most likely need new tyres at least once - so say another £400.
Worth doing the service plan?
Thanks Mark

Depends on which model.
Ours doesn't require a service every year, its 20,000 miles or 2 years which for us is every 2 years. It just goes in for a check on an annual basis.
If it is annual it often works out better to pay for the first year as it is usually quite a minor service and then take out the service plan so you get a major, minor and then major service rather than the other way around.
You can get an idea of costs by using https://onlinebooking.hyundai.co.uk/
Just search autotrader for the same model of the age you want to check the cost of service for and use that registration plate to get the price for your local dealer.0 -
Isn't it a Tucson?1

Standard T&C's are at https://www.hyundai.co.uk/content/owning/service/terms-and-conditions/12639-hyd-service-plans-terms-and-conditions-v3.pdf and doesn't include anything other than standard service items and if you go with the MOT option, just the first test, not any retests.0 -
If Hyundai are anything like Kia then petrol is 10,000 miles or every 12 months. Diesel is 20,000 miles or 12 months both are whichever is reached 1st. Also it is alternative service, main, intermediate, main. So costs vary for each service.
Also tyres are not part of service plan. So you have to pay for them seperate.
Having had several all of which have had service plans which have worked out a lot cheaper than not having them. Just make sure that the service plan is not a dealer based one.
As that looks very expensive.
Just checked a Kia Sportage & 2 services on plan run out @ under £300.
So maybe have a look at the Sportage which is just the same car but under a different badge.Life in the slow lane0 -
£1400 for three years looks like fleecing territory to me,
As two of these will be minor at what I hope is no more than £200, it means a second year service is £1000.
Its a Hyundai not a Merc S class V12.0 -

So how many miles a year is the PCP deal for?
Even with all that lot it's still a rip off.Life in the slow lane0
