good morning everyone,
i know that things are crazy at the moment with energy bills, but i was hoping to get some advice on a new supplier, i have recently moved to suffolk and the eon next flex they seem to have put me on seems ridiculous to me, i was put on this as i moved in on sept 22nd, it was a new build, i am a single person with disabilities needing more water but i am pretty basic on everything else, i no longer work and compared to my brothers bills i am paying nearly double and he has a family of three. if anyone has any ideas for good tarrifs or any extra help available i would be very grateful for any help... thank you

thank you0 -
And they are probably right. Martin has dealt with energy prices in recent TV programmes: I'd just check that E.on hasn't put you on a fixed rate (which I don't think they have) because there's only a few people for whom that would be better than the Standard Variable rate.
Head over the Old Style board for ways to keep warm ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Next Flex is their standard variable, yes it is expensive but is in line with the price cap and as cheap as you will get anywhere. Looking on the comparison sites I can save up to £5 per year moving elsewhere ! Most suppliers will not take on new customers on anything other than an expensive fix. Just ensure you are on DD payment as that is the cheapest.

I use the MSE cheap energy club to check https://clubs.moneysavingexpert.com/cheapenergyclub
(We're currently on Octopus variable tariff and no cheaper tariffs come up for us at all. Our energy bill has literally more than doubled since summer, with the price increase combined with increased usage with the cold weather.)0 -
thank you all0

I'm also with Octopus energy on the vairable tariff and no cheaper tariffs come up for me either. I was talking to someone from Octopus energy before Christmas because my daughter is moving into her house in the next fe weeks. They told me they are not taking on any new customers at the moment.

@Spoonie_Turtle do you claim the WHD? if so have you had yours yet? I applied before Christmas and haven't had mine yet. In 2019/20 i had it added to my account in the October so it's rather late this year. My gas at the moment is about £30 per month more than it was this time last year so that money will definitely help.0

[Only paid half of last month's bill thoughwe're electric-only; and this month's bill was even higher!]
