British Gas
I'm new here.
I need help or advise.
I am Power of Attorney for my mum on Health and Financial.
She has now been changed to British gas for gas and electric. I set up her account on 17/sep/2021.
But they are sending bills prior to that date which is addressed TO THE OCCUPIER and are adding this amount to her account. None of the meter readings that i have given over show up on her account. I have been in constant contact with them and they are not listening to me. I paid her Electric Bill only to find out the date of the bill was before the date i signed her up. I'm in a battle with them to get this sorted any help would be truly apricated.

Was she moved to BG after her previous supplier failed? If so can you tell us which supplier it was as that can affect the real start date? For example PFP customers were officially moved to British gas on 11th September, so it would be correct for bills to start from that date.0

Has she just moved in, Are the OCCUPIER bills hers or a previous tenant/owner?What dates are the OCCUPIER bills covering?

If she has moved to a new address, rather than being moved to BG at her current address then it should just be a matter of opening her account with the meter readings on the day she moved in and insisting that she remain on the standard variable tariff, not a fixed tariff.More information would help please.1

she was on British gas originally. she had some one knock on her door from Utilita who would not take no for an answer. she told him my son deals with all my bills due to illness. she had already given over details at this point, please bear in mind she has had 3 strokes and 2 hart attracts. she closed the door on him. he still went ahead and signed her up. Upon finding out which was way beyond the calling off time. i have also be dealing with my own family with 2 kids of my own who are disabled and working to pay my bills. i signed her back over to British gas on the 17/sep/2021. British gas in the mean time have been sending bills to the occupier of the address. I have now been fighting with British gas that i set up a new account on the 17/sep/2021. but they are adding the occupier to her new account. i have already paid her electric bill only to find out they have added the occupier bill to it. i have all the letters in front of me and all other correspondence on chat. she now has debit collectors sending letters. also the meter readings i have given them. they have come back with that they don't match what they have on there system.0

So she was actually switched to Utilita, then you switched ner back to BG? Or was it classed as an erroneous switch and BG was her supplier all along? If there were any switches, what readings were used? Who are the debt collectors letters on behalf of?You need to establish exactly what happened and when. Perhaps contact citizens advice and be prepared to take all the correspondence you have to them to see if they can help.

So did Utilita change her to credit meters? How has she run up a debt on her prepayment meters?

my problem is with British gas saying they have 2 accounts 1 for the occupier and 1 under her name and they are adding both accounts together.Rob1977 said:victor2 said:Rob1977 said:
