Mum seems to have contacted a third party insurance company rather than Churchill

Does she still have the hire car and the costs continuously going up?0

No because Court proceedings have been issued and in order for that to occur, the hire would have ended in order that a finalised hire invoice can be created and claimed for.Grumpy_chap said:Does she still have the hire car and the costs continuously going up?0 -
Might be a silly question and things have probably changed fro the days whan I ran a vehicle hire operation. So just how many days did she have the car - what was the hire rate and who supplied the vehicle (e.g.Avis)When you hire a vehicle there is a rate and usually the rate reduces the longer you have it. I had a daily weekly monthly rate and even then it was negotiable.I did ask previously had you spoken to Churchill and you responded you would be doing so the next day. Have they been able to assist?0

Many of these companies are part of the ABI Guaranteed Terms of Agreement which means the credit hire company have set day rates, set code of conduct, set procedures etc. For those operating under the GTA there is no time based discounting for long hires.Grey_Critic said:Might be a silly question and things have probably changed fro the days whan I ran a vehicle hire operation. So just how many days did she have the car - what was the hire rate and who supplied the vehicle (e.g.Avis)When you hire a vehicle there is a rate and usually the rate reduces the longer you have it. Where you have a large CHC and a large insurer they can agree terms outside of the GTA even though both are party to it... a former client had agreed a 15% discount off GTA rates in exchange for settling all claims under £1,000 without challenge (but a right to audit existed).
Its not clear if Stocalfe provided the credit hire themselves, in which case they are not party to the GTA or just sold the details to another CHC
Churchill won't be interested as credit hire is not an insured loss and its not the OPs loss either for any legal expenses cover to kick in given the duty to mitigate losses and so they just need to continue to support Stocalfe in their claim against the third party/Allianz to recover the hire costs. Just make sure all other aspects of the claim have been settled or are included in the action.0 -
No, annoyingly she didn't call Churchill about it when she was going to.Grey_Critic said:Might be a silly question and things have probably changed fro the days whan I ran a vehicle hire operation. So just how many days did she have the car - what was the hire rate and who supplied the vehicle (e.g.Avis)When you hire a vehicle there is a rate and usually the rate reduces the longer you have it. She had the hire car for around 1-2 weeks. Stocalfe seemed to have taken it out at a higher cost than you'd normally pay, which is what the other insurer is querying.0 -
I think this needs looking into.Flachi10 said:Hi,
My mum was involved in a car accident in September and somehow ended up going through to a company called Stocalfe Response despite calling the Churchill Claims number from her insurance policy. I wasn't aware of this situation until she told me about it yesterday, but here's the situation...
If she called Churchill (and their phone records will prove this), then how on earth did Stocalfe call her? A phishing scam? Did they get her details from Churchill? Did Churchill ask Stocalfe to deal with the claim? Did they have specific details of the accident? Did Churchill then not call her back?
You need to do some investigating on her behalf and perhaps attend court with her.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Does you mother have legal cover on her insurance policy?0

It’s been months … why hasn’t she discussed it with Churchill???0
