Not much you can do to stop getting covid if you have already been infected. Being vaccinated doesn't prevent you catching covid or passing it on. Tbe vaccine helps to prevent you being seriously ill.
You have been advised you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive so must follow the advice given by NHS
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-works#contents
Scroll toIf you’re contacted by NHS Test and Trace because you’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19

It was via the Covid-19 NHS app

Since you are fully vaccinated you are not required to self isolate. But it is advised that you take lateral flow tests every day for seven days.
However if you do develop symptoms you should self isolate immediately and get a PCR. You can order a postal PCR or you can leave your house to go to a walk/drive in testing centre as long as you don't take public transport.

Thank you I have no symptoms and negative LFT did my 2 weekly one about 30 mins before I got notified,
Must of been someone at bowling or football (30k capacity stadium) that tested positive, maybe pizza express or waffle place or pub but on different table to us,

With regards to how you were pinged - when someone tests positive, the covid app has a 10 day self isolation countdown. Even if they test out early the app sticks to the 10 days. You could have been sat near somebody who got out of self isolation early but within the 10 days, or of course someone who didn't bother to self isolate at all.

Thank you for the info
so basically I was within 2 meters more than 15 mins with
1: Someone tested negative on day 5/6 & released early
2: Someone tested positive on LFT today (Didn’t know they had covid-19 yesterday)
3: Someone tested positive LFT/PCR but couldn’t be arsed to self isolate,
so best I do LFT each morning till Saturday to be on the safe side.I know you can still catch covid after 2 jab & booster,
but hopefully I don’t test positive0 -

I tested positive a month after getting my booster. It was a week after flying back to the UK. I was wearing a mask in the airport and on the flight and not near anybody coughing. However English rules say people flying from Ireland don't need to show a negative test (jabbed or not) so easily could have been near someone who was positive and they didn't know it. Plenty in the security queue with their masks under their chins. It's the only day I was at any reasonable risk of catching it.
Thankfully I had no symptoms (found out due to regular testing) and didn't pass it on to any close contacts. And if I was going to be stuck at home for a week, a miserable week in mid Jan was the best time for it. Came as a total shock though, I felt completely fine.0 -
Yess fingers crossed
that’s the first time the app has pinged as close contact exposure
I did have venue exposure last year but didn’t need to do anything,
my 2 friends was with me most of the day except for football (different stand) so have told them as well,
Hopefully non of us catch it and if it was at football then quite a few people will have been exposed to covid.
