Hi,
I have my car insured with the RAC on a Comprehensive Plus policy, and paid extra for a Guaranteed Replacement Car. I have had an accident this week, for which I was at fault, and the RAC and my underwriters (Zenith at point of purchase, now Markerstudy) are both saying that as it is not a non fault claim I am not entitled to any vehicle. I have read the policy thoroughly and can not see any reference to this being the case.
Anybody else had similar experiences or can confirm whether this is correct ?
Thanks

It is a fault claim, not a non-fault claim.0

Can you post the specific terms and conditions covering the guaranteed hire car or a link to them? (It may be separate to your general policy terms and conditions).0

You need them to explain why no car is available particularly under this section of the policy, which has a different underwriter to the main policy? I'd be asking RAC (aka Budget Insurance)
The last version of the wording I saw did have a lot of get out clauses but fault/non-fault wasnt one of them... namely if the garage is able to give you a courtesy car or non-fault and the TPI are offering a vehicle etc then the policy doesnt respond.0 -
Thanks - here is a link to the wording

Perhaps host it publicly on Dropbox or even post a link to the insurer's webpage.0 -

I can't see anything in that wording that allows them to get out of providing you a vehicle.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
