Very.co.uk - faulty electricals

On the 8th January I ordered an Oculus Quest 2 which was delivered on the 10th January. Upon arrival, I unboxed it and put it on charge. When it came to turning it on, it wouldn’t. It would flash up that the battery was at 100% but it wouldn’t turn on. I spoke with oculus live chat and they recommended a factory reset. It wouldn’t let me do a factory reset for a while but then it did and everything worked fine. For about a day, because then it wouldn’t turn on again. Again, the battery was at 100% but it just wouldn’t turn on. So, I factory reset it again. It worked fine for a while until it stopped working again and by then I’d had enough. The item wasn’t even a week old; it was clearly faulty. I spoke with Very.co.uk and they said to take it up with oculus. So I spoke with oculus and they were happy to for me to return but there was a high chance my replacement would be a refurbished item. I wasn’t happy about this at all. I paid £300 for a brand-new item, not a refurbished one.
They sent me a returns label to send back, and their nearest collection point was 15 miles away from my house and I don’t drive. Seeing as my contract is with Very as its them who I purchased it from, I thought I’d send it back to them. I spoke to 2 different people and they both said its quicker and easier to deal with Oculus, except its not, for me it was quicker and easier to deal with Very, but they kept fobbing me off. I spoke to a different person who told me to just set up a return through my account and post it back. I did the returns thing on my account and sent it back via Royal Mail on Monday 17th January. I have had issues before with Very when it came to returning electrical items. They hate dealing with anything like that and just fob you off to the manufacturer. Can someone please confirm that I have done the right thing with this please? It’s been a week now and I’ve not heard a peep from Very. Luckily, I had bought it on a buy now pay later so I don’t have to part with my cash just yet. Also does anyone know how long it takes for my account to be credited? I have a feeling they will drag their feet with it. Thanks in advance.

Yes you did the right thing - your contract is with Very. You have 14 days to send it back anyway that is the law, so they have to refund you.
Hopefully you will hear back soon.
BTW if you have had issues returning electricals before why did you buy from them again?0 -

If you do not tell them it is faulty then they will assume you broke it and would still be charged. Which is fair.Or pass it on to the next unsuspecting buyer.0
