Dodgy indicators

My inlaws C1 had the came issue.
If I remember correctly a new stalk was under £20 from Fleabay and a mechanic friend fitted it.
Not sure if its a DIY job though??Was it really "everybody" that was Kung Fu fighting ???1 -
I decided that because the fitting meant removing the steering wheel, with the airbag, that it was a job for the garage - £244 later! eek! at least it's safe to drive & not a job I could have done!

Thanks for updating @Dannii75 - given what you've described was involved, I, too, would have paid for the job done. £244 to ensure a working air bag and safety is well worth it - might save your life one day.2

exactly! I did think for half a second if I could do it but the image of an airbag in the face & it was a no from me! hahaGrumpy_chap said:Thanks for updating @Dannii75 - given what you've described was involved, I, too, would have paid for the job done. £244 to ensure a working air bag and safety is well worth it - might save your life one day.0 -

Yes my clasic Mini had dodgy indicators and I had to remove the airbag a few times before I finally realised it was the earth and nothing to do with the Stalk and surrounding electrics...1 -

oh well, at least it’s done now.1 -
I had a Peugeot 307 and had problems with the indicators. Cost me £300 - got rid and went back to Fords.

yeah, in fairness, the car costs me next to nothing & I can usually do work on it myself so I'm 'OK' with the cost - it's just shelling out £250 that's the shocker! At least it's safe to drive now!Grey_Critic said:I had a Peugeot 307 and had problems with the indicators. Cost me £300 - got rid and went back to Fords.0 -
I had to do the job on my daughters Fabia and after watching the video online it went in to the shop to get done.
There just building these parts with inbuilt obsolescence these days.0
