Anyone use GAP123? or who else do people use for GAP insurance?

Anyone use GAP123? or who else do people use for GAP insurance?

Would love to hear of peoples thoughts and ideally ones who have had to make a claim as thats the only way you know if they are any good.

Cant comment on that particular one but...

Theres a MSE guide on GAP here

And i see all of the big car insurance comparison sites have GAP insurance quotes - they usually rate them too.

Thanks, I was looking for a 5 year policy
  • I used, total loss gap.
    Never claimed, price was good.
A like for like policy as car was pre reg, they would replace it for the new model as mine was the last of the old 5008.

I think they are all the same company, no idea why they have lots of different names. The key is looking for reviews in people who have had to make a claim:

Aequitas Automotive Limited Trade as :
    EasyGap.co.uk
    Shortfall.co.uk
    GapInsurance123.co.uk
    TotalLossGap.co.uk
    Company Registration Number 7347606

https://gapinsurance.co.uk/ are recomended on MSE too and seem to have good reviews, but only have 82 reviews, easy to get friends/family etc to make that number.

The other one I've seen recommended here in the forum is ALA .. and I think they were mentioned very recently in another thread.

  • I just recently took out a policy with ALA and there was a 25% MSE discount with code MSE25 which made the price very good compared to others I had looked at
  • https://gapinsurance.co.uk have had nearly 3000 really good reviews on feefo so worth getting a quote I guess. They use Lloyds of London whereas ALA and others mostly use insurers in Gibraltar or Malta. Not sure they do 5 years though.

Thanks Noggin500, do you have any connection with https://gapinsurance.co.uk
  • I used all 3: Shortfall.co.uk, GapInsurance123.co.uk, TotalLossGap.co.uk and also ALA with 25% off. Never claimed on anything. One of the first three was really good to deal with and were happy to move policy to another car I bought. And I recently cancelled policy under TotalLossGap.co.uk and got some money back by cheque. At the moment I have active policy with ALA.

I had around 10 cars in last 10 years and bought gap policies for all of them. Some cars leased, some owned, so different types of policies and different length.

I noted couple of years ago, that someone had problem with getting back deposit money from PCH gap with Gapinsurance123 underwritten by Motorway Direct.

Thanks, do you mean someone had trouble claiming their gap insurance with Gapinsurance123?

I have been searching for genuine posts or reviews on people who had GAP insurance, who they used, how did their claim go etc. Honestly dont know who to use.
Theres alot of people who work for certain gap companies who go onto forums and promote their GAP insurance, so have to be careful and companies whos employees etc write good reviews.
