Do they have a time limit on a response to me, bearing in mind the date to pay £60 goes up to £100 on 02/02/22?
Yes they do have a time limit - it's in the BPA's Code of Practice.

Why the interest in £60 or £100?
Surely the only reason you are going through this process is to avoid paying anything?
Thanks, I just didn't know if they had a way that when you appeal, if the appeal was refused, you would end up paying £100 as you would have gone over the date of 'discounted' payment. Until this gets rejected I'm just sceptical at the moment but will cross fingers that the template I have sent over to them does the trick.

If this appeal gets refused, then an appeal to PoPLA is the next thing - not paying £100.

But it is quite likely that ParkingEye will see sense and accept your appeal.
If they don't, then PoPLA certainly will.

For future reference there are no barriers for any public parking at UHCW, just the cameras. Out of hours is irrelevant - parking there is chargeable 24/7.  Also for future reference, you can pay online as long as you do it the same day if you don't pay at the time for any reason.

Not sure about the signage where you parked but certainly worth checking out and getting photos of.

I would second going via PALS however they do try to fob you off with dealing with the parking company directly, but still worth a try in the circumstances.
I live about 45 minutes walk (10-15 minutes by bus) from UHCW, so I could help @Consumers_Revenge_2 get any additional photos if they need it.

You are not going to pay anything.  I can't understand why you are looking at the 14 day bribe 'discount' which is completely irrelevant.

The NEWBIES thread deals with that in the Q&A at the start.

As long as you don't say who was driving, you win at POPLA due to their non-compliance with para 13/14 (which is what your appeal says).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Do not pay a penny unless a judge tells you to, 99 times out of 100 this is a scam.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Thank you all so very much. I have received a letter today from Car Parking Partnership to advise the charge has now been cancelled and and there is no outstanding payment due!

Thank you once again for your help, I do hope others feel the need to investigate these charges rather than handing over their money so quickly.

One question, so if I ever need to park at the hospital again, or any other hospital, you simply do not pay but send in the template when you receive a parking charge? This is the part I am unsure of.

Now that you are aware you need to pay to park, why would you not do so?
