Is Santa Real?

My mother hired a rent-a-Santa to visit one Christmas morning to keep me believing for another year.
He was barefoot, beardless, black and drunk as a whole factory full of elves but I was enchanted.

I suppose we shouldn't lie to our kids, but still, I was just watching a video from when the kids were about 3 and 2. The 2 year old had a trampoline (the small one with the handle) delivered. My scientific 3 year old was asking how santa got it down the chimmney. And there was I telling him that , look he left the box over there so he must have got it down the chimmney then made it up.
Same child at about the age of 10 and not believing anymore, was walking down the road with me just before christmas and noticed that there were lines in the snow on the top of the fire station roof, and decided that they must be sleigh marks.
The eldest 2 at about 12 and 13 told 7 year old that santa had had a terrible accident and had been run over by his reindeer and was dead.!!! I am suprised she wasn't traumatised for life. Or perhps she was.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

My son 7 (almost 8) has been wavering this year. He looked up the chimney from our bedroom (open disused fireplace) to see if it was true that coal deposits would be left there for Santa to give to the naughty children. He also asked me one day if I was going into town to buy toys for Christmas. I said did he mean order them from Santa, he just shrugged and said or you could get them, wrap them and put them under the tree whilst I'm asleep.:D0

I did have a friend who thought it was really wrong to lie to children even about santa....:xmassign:
They are girls aged 8 & 6.
Thank you to everyone for your advice so far.... Can anyone explain to me how to put a signature here?
