Is Santa Real?

:xmassmile How do I explain to a kid when they question if Santa is real or not. I need to know what to say to prove it. This has happened more than once already this year and I didn't have any evidence!
Thank you and sorry if I shouldn't have posted a question like this here.

 Can anyone explain to me how to put a signature here?

My mother hired a rent-a-Santa to visit one Christmas morning to keep me believing for another year.
He was barefoot, beardless, black and drunk as a whole factory full of elves but I was enchanted.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I helped out in my eldest sons class on Friday (Yr 2, so mostly 6 year olds) and got the 'santa isn't real' line thrown at me.
I took the literal way round, which did seem to work (some kids were actually backing me up, lol, so nice to know there are still so many 'believers').
Anyway, when I answered with a simple 'of course he is', they said 'I've never seen him', so I countered it with 'well, have you seen a ...(Polar bear was what actually sprang to mind, but you just need to pick something that they will have heard of but most likely not seen - air/space etc is too obscure for this age) and away went a little discussion about whether not seeing something means it doesn't exist (helps that it's a CofE, so the god concept is already there too).
The tooth fairy was a good one that another child mentioned - after all, as they said, who puts the money there if there's no tooth fairy?
When it came up about going to see santa in the grotto, it was said that 'they're just people dressed up', so out comes the santa's helpers lines, along with 'every grown up is one of santas helpers at some point' (covers when they recognise someone's dad behind the beard at the school fair), but I also added that Santa doesn't wear his suit all year - he's dressing up too, just like a policeman putting on his uniform, or them wearing their school uniform.

How old is he/she ? Maybe they are ready to know the truth....my 11 still doesn't want to know the truth - nor do I (hee hee hee)...we used to leave stuff out for Santa & his raindeers and Santa used to leave a right mess in the fire place...
I did have a friend who thought it was really wrong to lie to children even about santa....:xmassign:0 -
My mum had me believing til I was 13 (that was the year 1997 - so no mean feat in this day and age) and was in fact so convincing that I still wasn't quite sure when I was 14 or 15 !! haha!! How beautifully naiive of me!!
When I eventually accused her of completely lying (about aged 15!) she said she wasn't lying there "is a real Father Christmas who lives in Lapland" - which is actually true (I saw him on Granada tonight, tonight in fact!)...the only thing is he obviously hasn't got the sleigh etc, so thats how she told me she actually wasn't lying and got round the "Is he real" issue without lying (take from that what you will!!)
Anyway key things for me were (apart from having a mother who could probably get Rudolph to fly!!) :
A) the skeleton key cos we havent got a chimney - he can open any doors with this"how does little Johnny in the playground know there isn't a Santa? has he ever seen him??"
I'd probably show them Elf and show them what happens when kids stop believing (santas sleigh won't fly !!!)
Things that confused me were "Why does Santa like the same Whisky as Dad??" and "How come Santa gets Whisky here and not milk like at Little Johnny;s house?"
Needless to say, Dad didn't feel like Milk to get him into the Xmas spirit LOL!!
Obviously if your kids 15...I think its time to come clean...!
EDIT: Agree with Earthmother - they were Santa's Helpers aka people dressed up in shops, but that was fine. Santa was far too busy to get to all the shopping centres!

I found one of the hardest explanations was about how come some kids got more presents than others. We had to get around that one by saying that parents had to put the order in and pay for them before Santa would deliver them - flipping woman over the road with more money than sense when it came to Christmas spending!0

I never told my children and they never asked. The best thing now that my children are 15 and 13 is that their cousins are are 6 and 3 and so they understand about keeping Santa alive for them.
Last year my son then 12 wanted to put milk and mince pies out for santa and my daughter laughed her head off at him. I think that although he knew the truth, there must have been a little bit inside him wanting Santa to still be real.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't ever stop believing........
Never get tired of watching you, someday you will break through.....0 -
Yeah the mums and dads paid for the presents.

:xmassmile i know he is real because i work for him look at my name and you will see.
He is the best employer to have because he loves to give and spends a lot of time with his reindeers looking after them he treats them with the upmost respect he also rewards his staff and appreciates all the help they give him especially at this time of year and always says if it wasnt for them he would struggle to run his business because although like many bosses would like people to believe they are the success behind their business santa knows there is a motto that says behind every successful man is a good women he always appreciates Mrs Clause cooking him christmas dinner after such a busy christmas day and his motto in business is behind every successful business is a good workforce dont you just wish you had a boss like mine.
Where we work we are one big happy family and everyone is happy in their work and on that note i will leave you to deciphere whether he is real or not.
Merry Christmas :santa2: :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmileThe average woman would rather have beauty than brains,
