I’ve not contacted the insurance company yet but do you think I should and see what they can do?
was waiting for aer lingus to get back first.

was waiting for aer lingus to get back first.Wow if we got that back off them I’d be more than happy to let the other expensive go lol, joking apart we was supposed to fly out last Thursday and didn’t get off till Friday then it took us 2-3 days to get over the stress and worry of it happening and to try and get our heads back into holiday mode.
wouldn’t wish that Thursday night walking back to the airport for more tests after all the people we’d been near since the day before as we’d stayed locked away over Christmas to make sure we didn’t get a positive test!
just had a great day at nasa and chilling by the pool now, thank you All for the great advice and I’ll keep this post updated when aer lingus reply back, in they’re email from they’re online complaint form they say upto 14 working days but I’ll leave it until I get back from hols now unless I hear sooner!
thanks again for the advice0 -
Hi, I just wanted to join in with those saying get on with enjoying your holiday and sort things out when you get back. You won't be the only ones claiming your money back since the whole planeful of people will be doing the same.
Put it all right out of your mind. And have fun!Sometimes these things happen to travellers.

hi guys, just to update everyone I got back on 30th jan, finally started to really enjoy the holiday after that first week then it was time to come back too soon and another nightmare knock on effect from that cancelled flight.
with them deleting my youngest off the booking completely we had to check in at the desk and then they had to sort out where she'd been deleted and add her back in again just like the outward flight so another half hour at check in desk while others dropped bags easily enough and went through.
next day back in uk I get an email invoice from avis and they took £180 off my credit card so had to call avis up and the lady could see it was a ba fly drive booking and because we didn't pick the car up the day we was supposed to they'd closed the booking then next day when we picked it up they set up a new booking at a different price and took the difference off my card, they also took a fuel surcharge but luckily I always take a pic of the fuel gauge when we return the car so had to email that over and she cancelled it and a few days later we got that refunded.
more stress but something ticked off!
still not heard a single thing from Aer Lingus and they was supposed to make contact within 14 working days, thats well and truly gone, ive since messaged ba as thats who the booking was originally with and nothing from them either so I emailed the head of ba Sean something or other he's called and within a day I had a reply from his staff saying they will look into it all and let me know then a week later they emailed again to say they havent forgotten and ba will be in touch.
still think it should be Aer Lingus contacting me though.
3 weeks home and not a reply from them though and hoping ba will come up trumps.
has anyone got any advice where I go with it next?
do I just sit and wait?0
