With the announcement of the latest CPI, 5.4%, we are in for some uncomfortable price rises in the coming months.
My TalkTalk bill will only go up by 9.1% in April, a lot of other ISPs will be raising prices by 9.3%

I'm sweating on the next announcement as my pension rise in April will be the January RPI figure, if it stays the same as today at 7.5% I'll be very happy.brewerdave said:

Who on earth thought this method of increasing prices was a good idea? Why did Ofcom authorise this?RPI, acceptable, but adding 3+% on top is just despicable, especially with us all under financial pressure.0

Still time for companies to announce doesn't apply this year, but overall broadband is relatively dirt cheap compared to some other utilities, some fixed deals effectively give you line rental for nothing, and its about £20 on its own (I remember when it only ever used to be £8.92!)

I've managed to get in touch with Virgin Media and renewed for another 18 months at £24 per month. Quite pleased with that result.

Wonderful. I just signed up to Vodafone £19, who say they rise CPI plus 3.9%!
So a 9.3% increase, how lovely.
Lovely how the BOE interest rate probably won't rise with it though!!

Wasn't broadband costs meant to be decrease after Openreach started selling there services to ISPs for less last October? Seemed to have swept that under the carpet.1

Meant to decrease never saw that statement .

Perhaps another Ofcom investigation is required… something doesn’t seem quite right when people get locked into contracts for say 2 years, have 2 significant price increases during that contract and then can renew at the end of the 2 year period for less than their price they pay at the end of the contract. Makes the built in price increases seem rather opportunistic…Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
