Airbnb council tax single person discount

What is the situation regarding council tax where single person discount currently applies when the property is offered for short term Airbnb type lets ? If the number of days is less than 140 and the property continues to be the main residence of the owner . The owner would not be occupying the property at the same time…

Why not confirm with the council by contacting them?

What matters is residence - this can remain whilst a person is not physically living in the property.

I do however have doubts in this case whether it would meet the test for residence.

Ah, that would obviously be a key factor : the owner would physically live in the property during not let periods so 225 plus days per annum. What is the test for residence?
