Airtime Rewards with Google Pay?

I've just discovered the Airtime Rewards app, but I do most of my spending (including online grocery shopping at Asda) on my Amex Rewards card. While Amex isn't supported by the app, it does seem to support Google Pay (and my Amex card is linked to my Google Pay account). Does anyone know how/if it is possible to get rewards from Google Pay spending in the Airtime Rewards app?

As you'd need to register the Amex card in the Airtime Rewards app either way, regardless of paying direct on the card or via Google Pay, the answer to your question is no I'm afraid.
