    Afternoon everyone! Not posted for a few days, DS has a cough so has been off school whilst we wait for PCR test results, hoping they come back soon but think he will be off for a few more days as his cough is affecting his asthma, hoping its not covid but what will be will be! This means I've been off work aswell, I don't think they are to happy as I work in a school at lunchtimes but staff are dropping like flies so it's not suprising! Today I have/will;

    - A friend took me to homebase to pick up some units I'd bought - had some voucher's I'd saved up from surveys so only cost me £4 - Done
    - Check online banking/spreadsheets - Done
    - Catch up on my TV programme - In progress!
    - Had subway for lunch as a treat for DS but had points saved up so only spent £3 - Done
    - Do some surveys
    - Sold an item on FB - It was collected this morning

Have a lovely evening everyone

    Morning folks

katy_ann - I hope your DS is ok

Totally forgot to check in yesterday - the boring job at work is still rumbling on, On the plus side it's paid project work which means that I'm working 5 days (so 1 day overtime) and I get a project rate of £40 per day (very nice). They contacted me yesterday about the possibility of doing another week or two. I couldn't say no even though I was very excited about finishing.

Was very much flaking out of cooking last night but OH prepped it all while I finished work and it was very tasty in the end. Like you know when something is just extra tasty? More so than normal? I'm not going to complain though!

I've been doing well this week on my extra exercise. It really hit home to me just how much my life has been tipped upside down over the past 2.5 years (with being sick, then the pandemic). It's no wonder that my fitness is not what it was! It gave me a bit of both a kick up the bum and a bit of grace at the same time. I realised that I can't do so much "accidental" movement and I need to proactively build movement into my day, but also that I had to just start where I was at and it's not going to be a "quick fix" back to where I was.

    So today's small things:
    :star: B/L/D from stores
:star: Log food in free app
:star: Gym 2/3 done this week
:star: Go on my "constitutional" walks at lunchtime and after work
    :star: Heating on low
:star: Do my new skincare routine
:star: Bit of knitting - I'm making a hat for my aunt as she's lost her hair d/t chemo

    Have a good day all

    Evening all :)
Not so cold today (hooray!) but we are supposed to be back to sub zero temps tomorrow. I hate winter!
    Anyway, today I have:
    Walked the dog
Usual kitchen and bathroom tidy up
Sorted out a pile of paperwork that has been accumulating. Read car insurance docs (zzzzz....), put away some bank stuff, even managed to speak to someone at the NHS referral service, so at least I know what is going on there now. Recycled non confidential stuff and the private stuff helped light the wood stove.
Finished the shopping (Lidls today, bought a few things that they don't stock at Mr S yesterday). I still need to note down spends.
Big cook up - made kedgeree, a casserole and a couple of tubs of 'gamekeepers pie' base (a Hugh F-W recipe), which is like shepherds pie but made with venison and is a bit spicier. I will just need to defrost it, top with mixed root veg mash and bake to make quite posh dinners! I must freeze some of this once completely cool.
  • Morning folks!

Feeling a bit tired this morning but self inflicted as had 2 beers last night :smirk:
New skincare routine must be working - had not mentioned it to OH but he suddenly turned round last night and said my skin was looking really nice and smooth. I'll take that as a win!

    today's small things:
    :star: B/L/D from stores
:star: Try to focus in work. Neverending job extended to 14th Feb.
    :star: Bit of knitting
:star: Lunchtime and after work walks
:star: Lift in with my colleague - saved petrol and OH gets a lie in
:star: OH to do the housework

    Have a good one all

    Today I have/ will:
    • Checked banks
    • Squeeze out last of toothpaste - OH moved on to a new one a few days ago but I'm still going with it!

    • Dinner from stores

I'm currently making a warm hat for my aunt. She is having chemo and has lost her hair so she's got a very cold head at the moment! Then back to the neverending blanket commission :/

Work this afternoon, but this morning I have / will:
Walked dog. It was very cold again, but we did a decent walk.
Usual kitchen / bathroom clean up
Fridge triage, froze some of the food I cooked yesterday
    Checked banks and updated spreadsheet
Load of washing, which I mostly pegged outside (didn't bother with small things such as masks and washing up scrubbers). It was almost dry when OH got it in earlier this afternoon, and it is now on the airer to finish off :)
Not spent anything - that will change tomorrow though as I have one of two dental appointments (the other will be next week) :(
