Change your internet browser from Firefox to Brave. Brave has an effective ad blocker built into it and doesn't need to be installed as an extension, making it easier for those not technically minded.
It is a Chromium based browser so essentially the same engine as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.
did you try the previous suggestion for uBlock Origin?
If not, it's easy to install, even for a non techie.
As you're on Firefox, click on Tools, should be along top left of your screen, click settings, scroll down to Extensions & Themes and click, in the Find more add-ons box, type uBlock Origin then search, now click on uBlock Origin then click Install, job done,
