Sounds similar to the issue I’m having with British Gas 🙄
At least EDF have an email address they accept incoming correspondence at.
And it seems they actually reply too, given time. :)

BG like sending emails, but it's always from 'no-reply' email addresses.
Even some of their written correspondence has no address on it.

I've now got an email and letter from BG saying the same thing. I called BG twice to discuss it (as I couldn't believe the answer I was given the first time) where they both claimed they have no record of sending either the email or the letter, and as far as they can tell, there would be no reason to have sent such correspondence.

I requested on both calls that they send that confirmation of that denial in writing, and they both said they would. We'll see.

The fact on the second call the call handler immediately confirmed, "yes I've done that for you", and then asked "oh, you want it sent to you?" doesn't fill me with much confidence.

  • @Curiousgirl1 No. It is up to EDF and all the other suppliers to allocate enough resources to the SoLR exercise as is appropriate, be it staff, IT, or infrastructure. That is the deal they accepted from Ofgem when they took it on. Moreover, that is what they get paid for. They are in a no lose situation, because they can claim all their incremental costs back via Ofgem. Perish the thought, but they might have to temporarily dip into the massive reserves that they have no doubt built up over time. As I said, that’s the deal, their choice. As opposed to not my choice being their customer, and at the moment I am trapped due to both general and personal circumstances.

To be honest, I am very tired of your cribbing at other posters, and your constant blind defence of suppliers on various threads, apparently because you used to work for one of them for a week, and think that gives you some sort of inside track.

You have NO knowledge of the circumstances of other posters, and no right to criticise them for ‘nagging’ and not waiting. I personally have a credit balance with Zog, and a final account. It is for £72, but I have seen other posters quote amounts of £350. How long would you be prepared to wait for that, in your ivory tower? The sticking point is not Zog, but EDF. If they issue a bill that does not incorporate my credit balance, I will be deducting it, and I’ve told them so.

Have a nice day. As you can see, you’ve ruined mine.
  • @booshya You can’t comment on that, but you have done anyway, apparently as a social media snob? Nice one.

EDF offer the option to pay the bill in full each month by DD. This gets you the lower DD tariff but means you're only billed for what you've used (so long as you remember to submit monthly meter readings).
If you switch to budget DD (where you pay the same amount every month) you'll only get billed every 6 months, so you'll have 6 months before you know if you're paying too much or not.
I've not seen the option to pay allowing a customer to pay monthly in full by DD that can be applied for online (but that was for ex-Zog customers, rather than ex-UP customers)
I know EDF say they offer this option, you you may have to contact EDF to specifically  request this.
I'm ex-Zog and I set up my pay monthly in full DD online via EDF's website. It was simple and straightforward.

    Oh did I?

Can you remind me what I posted about the response times of EDF to DM's on twitter, as I really can't remember commenting upon it. I've even read back my posts and still can't see it.
(save for the fact I said I was unable to comment upon it)

All help you can provide in pointing it out to me will be most welcome :)

@booshya Outragious or outrageous? It’s neither. Feel free to provide evidence for your counter statement. Good luck.
Oh dear, where to start? The fact you now seem to be have become the spelling police says it all. The fact you are expecting me to post evidence to prove a negative? Think about it.

If you can set budget DD you should be able to set up full DD as well.
