I saw an offer on the Nectar App promising 10,000 points if I signed up to Sky through the Nectar site I did and have continued to pay my monthly direct debit to Sky ever since.
I was awared the 10,000 points on the App but they are still pending this was back on sept 1st last year I was told it would take 25 days.
I emailed them them back in October they replied on Nov 11th asking for more details which I supplied since then nothing.
They have not responded to over twenty emails on twitter they simply say they are looking into it.
There are lots of people on twitter who have had the same problem as the points have been "awarded" but not cleared so we cant use them.
10,000 points are worth £50 at sainsbury lots of other cashback sites exist but I went with Nectar for the Christmas shopping obviously its too late for that now.
Nectar continue to ignore emails and on twitter they say they are looking into it.
They said 25 days its now almost 140 days.
I have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority what else can I do ?
Any help would be really appreciated as Nectar are just ignoring the issue.

From what I can see they are not ignoring the issue, they have acknowledged that they are having an issue with some Nectar points being issued from partner transactions and have said that they are working to resolve it. I know it is not ideal, but sometimes things have system glitches and they do take time to resolve. There is no point complaining to the ASA.

What you need to do is sit tight, it is one of those things that will almost certainly get resolved, but accept that it might take a while longer yet. Sending them dozens of emails will not expediate the process, it may even push you further down the queue.
  • Appreciate your response, I can't believe it takes them since November to resolve if they spent anytime on it.
How long should I sit tight for they said 25 days on the 1st of September its now 17th January.

It will take as long as it takes. You cannot do anything but wait patiently for it to be fixed.

You could try to attract the interest of one of the journalists who writes a financial advice column. Whilst £50 is smaller than they might normally pursue if there are many in the same boat they might show some desire to put pressure on Nectar.

Did you at any point look at the Sky site via any other cashback provider? As Cookies can be a factor if there is a conflict over which site you signed up/offer by.
£50 is not much cashback as other sites are usually well over £100  👍

If the OP was awarded the points (pending) in the Nectar app, doesn't that mean the transaction tracked?

It tracked they claim to have been working on it since November, I've seen lots of people complain about it but Nectar just say they are looking into it.

Surely if they were they would have resolved it, I agree £50 is not much the whole scheme of things but lots of people's £50s soon add up.

Well yes. Just the same as other cashback sites will say purchase tracked & amount.. Then comeback as declined.

Never used Nectar in this way as they never seem to be the best deals to be had. So would not know if that is how they show all tracked purchases.
But clearly there is a issue with matching up purchases to tracking somewhere.

  • ^ They admitted in early November they had an issue transferring them they have acknowledged I qualified for the offer.
I feel that I have given them more than enough time now. There are lots of people effected by it.
