The only reason I care about the design is because the new style vertical cards usually make it more difficult to identify the cards in wallets that are predominantly horizontal. That Lloyds one posted above is one of the few that has the writing in the right place to be able to identify it.

And I love that feeling when a new card arrives in envelope and I can unstick it from the paper.I have multiple cards on my table all the time, right next to my laptop. Others are in my wallet and in my drawer. Sometimes I swap them.I guess it's just like people collecting magnets on their fridge or whatever. But at least bank cards are (usually) free.Imagine that some people pay £1000+ for an Apple phone for no other reason than to have Apple, that also most people can't see.Btw, something like Monzo or Wise loud green definitely catches attention. As well as Amex Everyday Platinum. I've had 5 different people commenting about these cards (2 about Monzo, 2 about Amex, 1 flight attendant showing Wise to another).EPICA - the best symphonic metal band in the world !1

Portrait cards and/or holders is a bit more of a free for all, granted. I personally keep all my chips on the right; I'm right-handed. I'm also completely disorganised with stuff like this so it's not a concerted effort.4 -
I don't care about cards. The only recent one I can remember sparking interest was the Lloyds horse when I switched to them, but the novelty wore off very quickly.
I've only one wallet and all the cards go in vertically. Credit cards in one side and debit cards in the other. Strange things like nectar and membership cards in the middle.
I generally identify my cards by colour.
I need to leave some cards at home. I used to carry most of them, but in concentrated numbers they set off security alarms in shops, which can become a pain.
I review which ones I am carrying based on benefits, chase became a new essential due to the cashback, and I'll check them when going on holiday.

Now, a "Pink Floyd" card would be a totally different kettle of fish!I could potentially become quite excited about one like that.3
