With you being TP only cover, you might have to look at getting it repaired at cost and trying to claim it back0 -

some try on high car hire charges and end up in court.
usually you are not liable but have to cooperate with proceedings which might mean going to court.
you have a duty to mitigate your losses
e.g. Not spend £300 on car hire when it £3 on the bus.
