There is more to the electricity price we are charged than the cost of generation.

Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)

7.5p to buy and 30p to sell? Seems terribly unfair and is the perfect example of a need for government intervention
Are you sure you have got that the right way round?

If you want a fair export rate why not take your chances on Octopus Agile outgoing tariff?

    These were Friday’s prices

The export proce on Octopus Outging Agile is rarely the same, not even as itself :D
It variues throughout the day, depending on the wholesale price of electricity. for the past 9 months it's been very rewarding for those people who qualify (electricity supplied by Octopus, and not using Go / Go Faster).
See this link for a chart showing goe the export price has varied over the past few days in my region:
    N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 33MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.

No room for battery arbitrage if you were on agile for both and with the cap increasing to 30p per kwh no further scope for round trip profit via a battery going forward.
    I think....

I disagree. Today you could've bought for 24p/kWh and sold at 33p/kWh. On Monday you could have bought for 6p and sold for 33p.
And I'm sorry but I don't understand your comment regarding the cap; do you mean the Ofgem cap on variable tariffs (currently 21p, soon to be 28p) or Octopus's cap on Agile (35p) or Octopus's cap on Tracker (30p) or something else?

From Tuesday Octopus appear to be increasing their fixed rate SEG to 15p/kWh

Provided the consumer is an Octopus customer and not on Go/Go Faster. I am presently looking to see whether an E7 tariff with either Fixed SEG Agile Outgoing will be cheaper than Go. The E7 offpeak cost will be similar to the 15p/kWh SEG.
