Thanks for this. I will be 70 this year and had forgotten I will need to renew my licence.0

Tell them to speed up the licences for HGV drivers then. We can probably do with more HGV drivers on the road than 70 year olds, unless they're also working for Deliveroo.SteveJW said:Upcoming 70th birthdayApplied for new driving licence 6th January, new licence arrived on the 8thMade sure I used the official DVLA websiteTop marks0 -

When I applied for my first medical license it took 10 months to hear back with my new one.
Renewal is at the end of the year. Is it likely i'll have to wait a very long time again ?0 -

Yes, refer back to your previous thread as someone helpfully put a link in:

I've seen that page already but didn't see the info at the bottom, thanks.MovingForwards said:venomx said:When I applied for my first medical license it took 10 months to hear back with my new one.

No lockdowns, covid under control, so I don't see why there are still delays to this extent when everywhere else is back to normal
At least section 88 covers me for upto a year after it expires
I might see if I can get the renewal form early so that it's done in time0 -
It will take time to wok through the back log of post. It won't magically disappear.venomx said:

There are still lots of absences due to people getting covid now that restrictions are ended. Covid is not under control. It is being left to spread naturally,
Things are definitely not back to normal.

Well their reason for the delays was due to strikes and lockdowns. Hopefully the wait isn't 10 months like it was before, although to be fair the first application after declaring a medical condition probably takes longer than just a renewalsheramber said:
