2nd opinion on if I'm being overcharged or not having moved supplier

    As the meter was manufactured in 2017 it will be a replacement.
  • I really appreciate all the replies everyone. I'll post back later today to let you know if they accept that they are incorrectly charging me. 
  • Sainsbury have agreed that they were billing me incorrectly, have issued refunds for all 3 previous bills, and raised one new bill at the correct rates. 
    Made a difference of going from £80 in debit, to now £80 in credit.
    I'm not really sure if the 4 digit/5 digit thing was an issue, but if it was, it was British Gas that gave Sainsbury our initial reading.
