Customer service is purely up to the company. There is no regulation to asses how good or bad customer service is.

People in customer service are paid to follow company policy , not make their own rules.

    Try that at Currys?
  • Good on you for sticking to your guns on this OP.

The CX is not in the same class as the TV you bought, even if 18 months newer. Panasonic are highly regarded as having better picture quality (brightness, HDR, etc) and a top of the line Panasonic or Sony from a few years ago still beats many of the TVs available, evident from the reviews of the TVs.

The lowest price your model reached seems to be around £1300 (even though you bought it for £1200 from what you say), whereas the CX went as low as £899 all over the place. Even the latest in LG's line, the C1, went to £999 in many places (and that is an improvement over the CX).

On top of that is the integrated speaker/soundbar, which offers a considerable bump in sound vs any LG TV available. They could have at least offered you a soundbar along with the replacement to make it similar enough.

All this would have taken time and effort to prove to them though, granted. Rather than a CX replacement, a refund of £1000, allowing you to buy the latest C1 with a new 5 year guarantee would have been a better option for you to choose than their replacement offer.

It would be like offering an S20 instead of an iPhone 11 Pro, a Breville Mixer instead of Kitchen Aid etc.
