Considering they didn't provide the service i kind of expected that and a touch more due to the experience as a whole was disgusting. 7 hours is a tad excessive.
I dont mind waiting say 3 - 4 hours as i get that each case takes different times. It was being fobbed off by the call center that riled me up.
My contract has just been renewed in November.
So are you saying £30 for 7 hours standing in the freezing cold and getting told lies, to then have to tow the car myself is a reasonable settlement?0 -

Therefore, a goodwill gesture is appropriate, and I think £30 is reasonable. As for the maths, I think that it was reasonable to assume that "I pay £22 a month as i got full cover for me + mrs" meant you pay £22 per month for both of you. So £11 each, therefore £30 would be roughly a quarter of the annual premium for your half of the policy.0 -
A 7 hours is slighly more than an inconvenience, suppose i am lucky, right? True i had no financial loss from it and luckily i had a friend to come rescue me.
The £11 maths only works if they offer the same service for that price, they dont.
Sounds like you work for RAC, if you dont maybe you should apply. Quite a staunch defender.
But it was a genuine question as i felt that was a low ball offer considering of my ordeal.

If you only wanted views you agree with, you should have said at the outset. Saves a whole lot of bother and childish accusations of a vested interest.

Once the tow truck called to say he is on his way, i told him not to bother.0

The only thing i disagree with is the £11 thing.
But i asked a genuine question and you answered it. So thanks for your time.
Just felt glossing over the unacceptable wait time as an inconvenience is quite frustrating.

Maybe the person who told you nothing had been done was the one giving you the wrong information.
As I understand calls are dealt with on a priority basis not first come basis. Maybe there were calls came in with a higher priority than yours.
A young mum with a baby stranded in an isolated place , or a single female.
Someone stranded on a dangerous road.
