No guarantee that it will work but here goes
 - if your PC does not meet the specs required by Microsoft (ie NO TPM)
Step 1. First of all, you need to download Windows 11 iso file. Go to the official Windows 11 download page by clicking on this link. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
Step 2. Under the ‘Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)’ section, select Windows 11 from the drop-down.
Step 3. Click on the blue download button. Make sure beforehand that you have enough data and speed as the Windows 11 iso file is 5.1GB in size. You can move to the next step while the Windows 11 ISO file is being downloaded.
Step 4. Click on the Start icon and type “regedit” without the quotes.
Step 5. When the Registry Editor shows up in the Start menu, press Enter to launch the app.
Step 6. The app will demand administrator rights, click on ‘Yes.’
Step 7. You should see expandable folders on the left panel. By expanding them, you can find registries nested under various levels. Navigate to find this address: Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > Setup > MoSetup
Step 8. Alternatively, you can copy and paste Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup in the address bar, where “Computer” is written.
Step 9. Now, right-click on the right panel and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Step 10. In the ‘Value Name’ field, write or copy-paste AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU and in the ‘Value Data’ field, type 1.
Step 11. Click on ‘OK,’ and close the app. Wait for the downloading to finish.
Step 12. Once the ISO is downloaded, open Windows Explorer to find where it was downloaded and double-click on it so that it mounts itself and opens.
Step 13. Double-click on the setup file and the installation process will begin. You may receive a warning but the installer will not stop you from going ahead.

I just don't get it. What's the point?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Likewise I don't see the real point of bypassing the Windows 11 requirements.

TPM 2.0 has been around for 8 years so I can't understand why that is an issue. All Win 10 certified computers have a TPM. The CPU requirements relate to processors launched over 4 years ago.

If you don't meet these requirements then you won't benefit from the security enhancements in Windows 11 and / or your performance will be hampered, you are better off running your PC on Win 10 until the end of support in Oct 2025, at which point your hardware will be at least 8 years old and quite justified for an update.

There is a valid reason for the minimum Win 11 requirements, many people seem to dislike it but the fact is that if you want the latest security without impacting your performance then you will need the minimum hardware spec.

Processors prior to 8th gen take a big hit when running VBS / HVCI of up to 25% and this is mandatory on new Win 11 installations.

If you care about security then you can enable VBS/HVCI (core isolation & memory integrity) on Win 10 and get the benefits anyway - I already had it enabled before well before I installed Win 11 in May 2021. It is not enabled by default in Win 10 and I'd guess that most users hadn't enabled it because they don't care about security as much as I do.

Win 11 makes it mandatory and therefore have specified minimum hardware requirements so you are not disappointed with performance.

I'm not against anybody bypassing the requirements, just be aware of why they have quite rightly been made minimum requirements for a good reason and bypassing them is giving you a false sense of security.

I've heard tell that some people do this kind of thing just because they can. It's fun for techies. They like to see what the new stuff looks like.

(Win 11 running just fine on a 8 yr old HP Envy x360 Intel Core i5 2.2 GHz)

    The first step is wrong.
The first step is to ensure that you have everything backed up because if anything goes wrong you could be in a bit of a pickle.

I’m not disagreeing with that but everything should be backed up anyway if you care about your data.

All sorts of events can cause unexpected data loss and they don’t have a “step 1”.
