Organised tour - not incl. flights

Hi everyone,
I am interested in booking an organised tour, but the flights have to be booked independently, meaning that if the tour were to be cancelled, I would lose money on my airfares. This has happened to me before when booking with this same company.
Can anyone tell me about any travel insurance policies that would cover this, please? Thanks in advance!

Call some of the major league travel insurance firms and enquire on the specifics.

From personal experience as long as you're both ok to enter under the current rules (and those rules in place when you book) and there is no travel advisory against the country you're visiting, plus that country is not on the red list, travel insurance underwritten by Aviva (mine is an HSBC policy and no longer on sale, but it's almost identical to that offered by Nationwide and some others) should be sufficient for this under my understanding of the latest wording.Another important consideration is whether you're going somewhere with suitable alternative flights (connecting if necessary) if these need to be re-scheduled, possibly booking additional hotel accommodation as necessary and what the cost of these may be (from £20pp off-season to Greece is different to a £2kpp business class ticket to the Carribbean etc), as some destinations are far harder to reach than others at the best of times. One of the better airlines has been BA, whose policies are clearly stated here. https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/incident/coronavirus/vouchers-refundsWith my insurance policy (you'll need to check the wording of whatever policy you choose), I'd need to fund the first £50 per person of any claim, so in the latter case above wouldn't be out of pocket completely.💙💛 💔0
