Your parents are likely to be paying more because they are older and may have more of a medical history. Plus it depends where they are going.
That doesn’t mean you would be paying a similar amount.
Agree, and insurance that covers cruises can be more expensive as it needs to take into account the potential cost of a helicopter to take someone off a ship at sea.

The issue of the disinclination to have the  jab was fully covered already on an older thread here

If I was asked to use my crystal ball to see into the future I would be considering the possibility that jabs for overseas travel will be needed for a year or two more at the very least - with perhaps even after that being unvaccinated being a condition that needs to be declared for insurance policies and potentially resulting in a higher premium. Unfortunately though my crystal ball has been a bit on the blink recently.

I am not supportive of any form of compulsory jab, however I would expect those who choose to remain unvaccinated to suffer some sort of penalties and restrictions  for a good few years yet. Also if you read any of the various conspiracy theory sites there does seem to be a tendency for the anti vaxxers to not really being the sort that  travels much anyway - so not being allowed to travel probably wouldn't make a difference to many of them.

Thanks I wouldn’t mind paying more. I don’t want a cruise just i tended to travel Eurostar over to France Lille Paris or Brussels for a day. Early train late one back but trains are limited we have masks passports so these things are hard and quarantine for a 24 hour visit isn’t worth it. I am sure day trips have been less popular during the pandemic due to limited services but yes paying more insurance seems ok if I can take a day visit again.

I think there’s a good chance many countries will remove requirements this year.

The CDC has said this week that natural immunity means you are less likely to catch and end up in hospital from the delta variant compared with vaccination.

Unless most countries start rolling out 4th doses by the summer for everyone it will be difficult to argue the vaccinated have anymore protection 6 months after there last dose.

So Norway will allow anybody in just two tests and UK so Norway now an option only I don’t want to visit Norway but more could follow. How do they know you actually took the tests anyway? Will they drop these tests in a few months if I wait a bit longer?
  • So UK likely to drop the two tests by end of month for unvaccinated.

That allows travel to Norway and Mexico and a few others as they allow anybody in no tests.

Problem is the richer countries Spain Germany France Holland are still rife on covid regulations. Look at France today full of trouble. Holland said they will drop masks but extend the covid pass.

I tend to take the Eurostar so Norway and Denmark and places like this are less appealing. Does everybody see other countries following UK and Norway?

Check Norway back to normal no vaccine required or quarantine or masks why the delay elsewhere? Why not follow Norway and get back open?
