As @Redx writes most DPOs are on the privacy page but some PPCs take great pleasure in hiding it away!

Which is why the NEWBIES thread already tells people to Google the firm's name or acronym plus the word privacy.

None of our advice tells posters to randomly look on their websites.

  • Yeah I forgot to go back and check the newbies thread again. I'll make sure to keep referring back to it from now on.

Another question. Having read through a load more different threads, I've noticed that the claim against me doesn't include any legal representatives costs whereas it seems like most other peoples do.

Is there anything to read into or infer from that? Does it make it more likely that they will discontinue the claim after there is some resistance as they don't have someone specifically representing them for example?

Or are there other reasons why they might not be trying to claim legal representation costs?

Maybe they are doing it in house ? Instead of using a rent a lawyer ?

Your claim form picture doesn't show a legal firm in the box below SIP Parking , where it says if different ! So no rent a legal , so no legal costs

Sip represent themselves , so no , it doesn't infer a discontinuance , just standard for them ( in house , not farming it out to a roboclaim firm )

Yep I noticed that too.  SIP filed the claim themselves and have no legal department.  Perhaps more likely to take it to a hearing and for an employee to appear, not a hired gun legal rep.

  • Ahh that makes sense and I did think it was likely that they just do it all in house, just living in hope that it might make it more likely that it gets discontinued before I spend many hours more time reading and typing! I am slightly surprised that they still don't claim the legal costs anyway in the same way that self employed people can sometimes claim back costs of work they have completed themselves.

I got the DQ back already from CCBC. It's due to be sent by the 28th Jan. Is this something I should just submit as soon as possible or should I wait until closer to the due date?

Thank you again for all the advice/help. It's very much appreciated!

Makes no difference. Send it when you are ready.
Remembering of course to send a copy to the Claimant.
  • I have sent my DQ back to SIP and the county court.

I have a query though. I emailed the data protection officer at SIP on the 12th Jan (did not receive any response, auto or otherwise but the email address was definitely correct) regarding a change of address.

If they have then sent out their own completed DQ questionnaire but have not yet updated my address, therefore sending it to my old address whose fault would this be? I ask because they have 28 days to respond?

Another additional query would be whether it would be relevant whether I had set up mail forwarding when I left the previous property (this is not a confirmation of whether I did or not) and if the mail had been forwarded, would I be obliged to say that I had in fact received it? The mail forwarding is definitely not a 100% foolproof system.

Email the DPO of SIP again and forward your previous email and remind them to immediately stop using the old address and to erase it, and to reply to your SAR.
