The processor weighs when 160g in it's own packaging.nyermen said:If I google the processor, the suggestion is that its about 53g, so indeed it will be negligent.0 -
Was this a "warehouse" deal. That is the only time I have every had issues form amazon. It's not worth the effort to bother with them for most things. It is also ridiculous that you would not check the item within 24 hours (I usual do it within 5mins) of arrival. Is amazon packaging your usual xmas wrap?0

Actually, my husband would have done exactly the same (wrapped the Amazon box rather than unpacking item and then wrapping it) so not that ridiculous....

Maybe for your family but I also check all items when they arrive. to make sure it is the correct item etc.0

This, plus, being MSE, the Amazon box is always enormous while the internal box is small and requires less wrapping paper. Though, if you don't want them to guess what it is, the Amazon box is a free decoy.sheramber said:Maybe for your family but I also check all items when they arrive. to make sure it is the correct item etc.1 -

Yes, that's exactly why my husband would have wrapped the Amazon box. He often hides presents inside other boxes to put me off the scent.

I would think many people do that but most would check the correct item is in the smallest box firstSkiddaw1 said:Grumpy_chap said:

Yes, he would have checked to be fair, but from what OP said, the Amazon parcel was delivered only the day before the partner's birthday so I suppose there may not have been opportunity or time to do more than hastily wrap the box.

I seem to recall my Amazon packages having a weight on them but it was to the nearest 100g.Thrugelmir said:
Packaging maybe weighed first. Then contents added. Then rechecked. Easy enough to do. Amazon aren't going to leave themselves open to spurious claims they cannot defend.y3sitsm3 said:
But it depends how granular that weight check is.Thrugelmir said:
Akin to supermarket self service checkouts there'll have proceedures in place to check items through the entire system. Weight being the obvious control check.Diamandis said:Get them to send you the package weight upon delivery if they are claiming to have that information.
A processor doesn't weigh much and its weight is easily dwarfed by the packaging.
If it was opened by the courier and resealed, the OP would have no chance.
Removing a 53g processor by someone after it had left Amazon is highly unlikely to flag up any discrepancy.0 -
I have had a few Amazon packages that have opened without breaking seal/rip seal and would easily be resealed to look untampered0
