Barclays is tight with Apple Pay, they also offer promotions if you connetc the credit card.
What I've read in that link is exactly that, and I think that in the case of Barclays, it's pretty obvious considering that they push you towards that payment gateway.
I'm not sure about Amazon and other big stores though...
