@f0xh0les … I’m saying nuffink …! 😂 In all seriousness, my parents live 200 miles away so she is fairly safe 😉
@SandyShores, sympathies x
I haven’t actually seen my parents in person for c. 3 years now? I’m not allowed to visit as apparently it’s ’inconvenient’ 🤷♀️
@savingholmes, thank you for the good wishes 😊
@greenbee, an AI startup would pay me for my industry experience?? I’m intrigued! 😊🤔

You have evolved to a level that's so much higher than your mother @KajiKita that she will never understand you. After years of wrestling with wishing I had a different relationship with mine, the day I stopped wishing was the day it started to improve. Never forget how fab you are love Humdinger xx3

@savingholmes, I wouldn’t be averse to working with AI but I wouldn’t know where to start, that’s why Greenbee’s comment intrigued me 😊
Thanks Beanie 😊❤️
@Humdinger1, thank you x It always amazes me that I forget that my mother has a mean streak, a mile wide, that surfaces occasionally … Something ‘snapped’ in me yesterday and I found myself internally, instinctively and confidently rejecting her judgements on me. There have been many times over the years when she has read me 100% correctly but I think you are right, we have just diverged too much now for her life experiences and advice to me, on a personal level, to be relevant to me any more. She doesn’t live my life nor does she live with me, so I trust Mr KK’s and my friends’ perceptions of me much more, I realised, as I bashed at the garden yesterday afternoon 😉

Vertical/industry/domain-specific AI is what's needed now. So if you can identify AI-startups in your industry (or even some of the key software vendors you use who will be trying to work out how to use AI), they will be looking for industry experts to help them work out where AI can add value and where it won't. And then to help them develop the capabilities, as well as work with their customers to make the changes needed to implement the AI.KajiKita said:@savingholmes, I wouldn’t be averse to working with AI but I wouldn’t know where to start, that’s why Greenbee’s comment intrigued me 😊

Moms. Hmm. And even dads!!
So many times I've tried to explain what I did at work and they just didn't get it unless it was something really quite simple. Like when I ran a box office for an orchestra. To them that was that I sold tickets. Umm. Yes but did a lot of computer programming, stats, helped on marketing campaigns, inventory control. No point in talking to them on other roles like FX settlements, pension admin, reasonable adjustments.
But the positive takeaway was at one point it became obvious that my mom was jealous of me going out and doing various jobs. She trained as a nurse and the week after she qualified she married and that was the end of her as a professional. Obviously she worked as a mom, helped my dad's business, managed rental properties, and was an antique dealer but to her none of those things were working.
