Sideboard has gone and we have £120 (asking price) to use for our firewood delivery 😊👍

So, this afternoon will consist of measuring and taking down the mirror we had above the sideboard, moving the new sideboard where the old one was (I have already cleaned where it was! 😳😂) and reloading our stuff into the new one. Happy, happy 😊

Done, done, done! It looks lovely 😊 I hadn’t really seen it (just photos on FMP and hubby showing it to me briefly on a dark night as he and a mate brought it in ) but it’s nice - c. 1910 I would say.

Somewhat annoyed: I have historically had a subscription to a magazine that is linked to a crafting organisation at £4.40 every month, with the magazine coming every two months. I have been havering for a while about whether to cancel it or not (I have masses of books, kits and other stuff, salted away that I am not getting to, but I kept on as they were in dire £cial straits and it felt like the right thing to continue to support these kind of skills). However, this month they have taken £14.99 on the DD! As far as I can tell (I have searched my email) without actually telling me in advance.

I gave cancelled my DD at my end written to them just now to cancel it at their end. Really I think they should refund me the £14.99, but I suspect that won’t happen ….

I have done the divvying up my savings ‘lump’ into ‘pots’ for expected spends. Hmmmm …. That has been something of a sobering experience. Even being conservative in terms of the value that most of these pots are at (e.g. just a couple of months worth of average spend in most of the categories) only leaves me with just over £3K’s worth of emergency fund …. 😳 (This is not enough to allow me to feel secure!)

    Interesting.

Some of the categories I need to be cannier about - such as getting better at how I spend on vegan food both in terms of initial outlay but also not wasting it 😢 but others may disappear or shrink radically for quite a while (clothes / foot wear for example).

In other news, I found a random, half finished tab on my spread sheet where i started tracking savings I have made (subs or services cancelled, that sort of thing). I have updated it and discovered that I have eliminated £981.36 of spend per annum so far and there is a further £332.00 I can realise in April and May next year by NOT renewing A/Prime and LI Premium subscriptions (the latter is helpful for job hunting but I don’t need it atm and hope not to again for a long time!)

    We both love it :)
I intend to get that totally out of keeping, modern storage unit out and into Hubby's garage somewhere!  ;)  (It's full of his DVDs, CDs etc. and he has a DVD system and music centre set up out there now  :) )

Made some, sloooow progress on the expenses today …. Yee Gods that system is painful. It’s actually a serious consideration in not wanting to go away to Quebec next March! 😳🙄😢

Hoping I will have at least submitted them (for the first time - they always get rejected for something on the first pass 🙄) tomorrow….
